Without the Miers firestorm you would not of moved De Wine and Graham out of the squishy 7 into the Consitutional camp. But just give it a rest ok? Today is NOT a day for the usual bashing.
A religious test for office is specifically Consitutionally prohibited. It is a non issue thrown up by people who have nothing else to throw in our way.
It's water under the bridge. We've learned our lesson, and so has Bush. Move on.p> The only thing we conservatives need to remember from the Miers episode is to that it pays to hold Bush's feet to the fire whenever he tries to betray us. But you can be sure it's in the back of Bush's, so there's no need to harp on it.

Well Specter is not one of the 7 so that may, or may not be enough. The idea is to steam roller the opposition before they get greared up. If McCain or Specter come out in the next 24 hours it will take a lot of guts out of the Left. If they are all ready beat, why fight us? This really, really, really is the Party Loyalty vote of a life time. Really MUST make it clear to all Senators there is NO room for manuever. If Specter bails, there simply HAS to be punishment for his disloyalty. Big week for us. Got to work the phones for all we are worth. If we can derail the Left counter attack in the next say 48 hours, we may have this done by Thanksgiving.

Call them, be polite, and voice your very strongest support for Judge Alito. Even if you are from another state then the Senator, CALL!.
Remember, be polite, the person answering the phone is just doing their job. Call the Senators for your State also even if there the slightest hint they may go with us.
Dem Sen Joe Liberman is a possible pick up from the Dems for example.
If you have an opportunity to actually talk to a Senator at a party fund raiser or event, MAKE IT CLEAR, the Alito vote is a PARTY LOYALTY vote. Call your state GOP office and tell them you strongly support Judge Alito and want to know what you can do to help.
Various Grassroots Conservative groups are posting on line petitions. Sign every one you can. One I know about cause I all ready got mail on is from a group called Grassfire.
Put "Grassfire" in your Internet search engine and go sign their petition.
CALL and Email Talk radio and write letters to the editor. Point out the facts about Judge Alito, do NOT let the spin lies get spread that the Left will try. You are going to hear a lot of contradictory stuff. Lot of accusations that he voted against this Conservative Principal or that.
NONSENSE. Watch the threads at Free Republic. We have a lot of Legal Eagle FReepers. They know their stuff and will help explain the more technical stuff.
Look Conservatives can, and will, differ on various issues but there can be no wiggle room on this issue for ANY Repub Senator. If a Sen will NOT stand with the party here, they may as well switch to the other side.
There are people who have worked for decades to get us here. We wanted this fight. We got this fight. Let's Roll.

Social Security Reform ON the table. Bush grasped the third rail and lived. Confirm Alito and we are 1 vote shy of a solid Conservative majority on the Court. Get Stevens or the Gizbug off in the next three years and Brown/Ownes/Luuttig gets on. Do both of that and for the 1st time in 70 years we have the very HEART of the Leftist beast in our grasp. We are 3rd and 1 and all the Whine all the Time crowd can think to do is bitch about how their glass is only 3/4s full. Sorry YOU DON'T get eveything you want in life. Sorry we cannot wave a magic wand and make every little one of your emotional whimsy reality. Learn to live with it.

With McCain the vast ego, matched to his tiny brain, never lets you get confident. We need to MELT his phone lines for the rest of the week. I am hearing rumors Specter is on board but cannot confirm that yet. I just am NOT going to be sleeping soundly until Alito is CONFIRMED. We have paid too high a price to get here. All the abuse and compromises we put up with to get here HAVE to pay off. Freepers CANNOT falter at the last hurtle. We got a rare thing in life. A second chance. Alito has got to be confirmed. Anyone who will not be with us may as well become a Dem.
