Senate Goes Into Rare Closed Session

Tuesday, November 01, 2005

By Sharon Kehnemui Liss

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate went into closed session Tuesday after Democrats enacted a rare parliamentary rule forcing the shut down of the Senate so senators could speak in a classified session about the lead-up to the war in Iraq.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid demanded the chamber be closed so they could hold a secret session that they say was prompted by "misinformation and disinformation" given by the administration prior to entry into the war in Iraq.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has demonstrated contempt for even the semblance of civility by moving for a closed session of the Senate, without conferring with the GOP leadership. Such tactics are evidence of just how frustrated Democrats have become.

Let em pull this stunt every day. They're playing along to the kooks who are now their party's base. If Reid wants to rewrite history, let him.

The Republicans should merely do a point of order, vote, and get this stunt over with.

Of course --- the RINOs will want to "hear them out" and "discuss" --- which plays right into the Dim hands.

The only reason they want a secret meeting is so they can claim "lies" and then when confronted say "it's secret."

Total B.S.

OK Billy Boy what are going to do about it? This is the time to use the power of the majority and the power of the leader. I won't hold my breath.

"The purpose of this closed session in the Senate chamber is to finally give the truth to at least the members of the Senate, to finally call to task the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee," said House Minority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois.

Read: "The purpose of the closed session was so that we could call American soldiers 'Nazis' without being pilloried by the media or the Republicans," said House Minority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois."

I'd like to review the intelligence which Toon used to justify the bombing campaign, which began the day the articles of impeachment were passed, which led to the expulsion of weapons inspectors, which led to four years of saddam being able to do as he pleased, which led to great and important questions about what he had done, which led to questions about intelligence leading up to the war in Iraq.

During the closed session, the chamber was shut to cameras, a security sweep was performed, and then Reid introduced a resolution calling for the launch of "phase two" of the intelligence committee's investigation.

"Phase Two.... The Final Solution, is upon us."

The Dims *publicly* call for a "Super secret closed
door meeting of the Senate", and then proceede to
tell the press, in detail, what they plan to
accuse Republicans of in that meeting...theatrics...

meant to smear the republicans with accusations
that they will not be able to publicly defend
themselves from, without revealing what happened
in that meeting, and be accused of "leaking"..
even though the only things that are going to
be said, are a bunch of screeching unfounded
accusations by a bunch of posturing Dimocrap
buffoons.

And they are threatening to do this every day????

What a bunch of temper tantrum throwing
little girls these whiney Dimocrap
loserist DimoGenerates are. Yes, Martha...
They *are* that big a bunch of traitorous
cowardly wussy liars, that would sink that low.

E-mail the RSCC and tell them to stand up and if the Dems want am investigation of Plameleak, then they must expose Wilson's lies. Tell them the true story must get out: that Plame & Wilson, along with other CIA officers, conspired to bring down a president and that Wilson has lied consistently since his return from Niger.

GRANDSTANDING 101. The closed session is only so the demcRATS can get even more TV time than normal. They will drone on about things brought up in the closed to the press session that would have been of zero interest had the session been "open". They are freaking since no one is paying hommage to their drivel and it unnerves them.

Then again when a Senator like Barbara Boxer opens her mouth, nothing more than sheer stupidity is on parade. That can't help there TV image.

Please we want to hear from Boxer, again and again and again.
