Thanks for your comments, checked what Sperry had to say. Could explain at least partially why Bush, Rice, and crowd speak so highly of Islam at every opportunity. Also wonder about Saudi money in peoples' hands, and the possibility of blackmail (regarding parties hosted by Saudis with videos of weird sexual stuff, linked to on the OK Jihad Joel threads).
I have been read the Paris threads for days, and there is very little information about the Islamic connection on most threads. If some of you (who have the time) could perhaps visit some of them and post a few links and info over there, they need it! There's all kinds of info on this thread that needs a wider audience. Think of the lurkers, too.
There are still many denying the Islamic connection; that it's just poor disadvantaged "youths" with no Muslim connection.
Just a thought. I'd try and do something about it (acutally I did copy one article a minute ago on one thread that seriously needed it) but my tech skill are low, very busy today, and not anywhere near as knowledgeable as you regualars on this thread.

Police Find Fuel Bomb Factory Near Paris

PARIS (AP) -- Worsening urban unrest reached central Paris for the
first time early Sunday and youths set ablaze shops, businesses, schools
and nearly 1,300 cars from France's Mediterranean resort towns to the
German border.
Some 2,300 police poured into the Paris region to bolster security
overnight while firefighters moved out around the city to douse blazing
vehicles. Police reported nearly 200 arrests nationwide.
Police also found a gasoline bomb-making factory in a rundown building
in Evry, a southern Paris suburb that contained 150 explosives, more
than 100 bottles, gallons of fuel and hoods for hiding rioters' faces,
Jean-Marie Huet, a senior Justice Ministry official, said Sunday.
For the second night in a row, a helicopter equipped with spotlights
and video cameras to track bands of marauding youths combed the Paris
suburbs from the air and small teams of police were deployed to chase down
rioters speeding from one attack to another in cars and on motorbikes.
The violence took a potentially alarming turn with attacks in the
well-guarded French capital. Police said 32 cars were set afire there,
mostly on the northern and southern edges of the city.
Inside the city, three cars were damaged by fire from gasoline bombs
near the Place de la Republique neighborhood, where residents said they
heard a loud explosion and saw flames shooting into the sky.

The violence - originally concentrated in northeastern suburbs of Paris
with large immigrant populations - is forcing France to confront anger
long-simmering in the neighborhoods, where many Arab and African Muslim
immigrants live on society's margins, struggling with unemployment,
poor housing, racial discrimination, crime and a lack of opportunity.
Unrest spread Saturday night across France, extending west to the
rolling fields of Normandy and south to Nice and Cannes on the Mediterranean
coast.
The Normandy town of Evreux, 60 miles west of Paris, appeared to suffer
the worst damage. Arsonists burned at least 50 vehicles, part of a
shopping center, a post office and two schools, said Patrick Hamon,
spokesman for the national police.
Five police officers and three firefighters were injured in clashes
with youths in the town, Hamon said.
"Rioters attacked us with baseball bats," Philippe Jofres, a deputy
fire chief from the area told France-2 television. "We were attacked with
pickaxes. It was war."
Fires also were reported in Nantes in the southwest, the Lille region
in the north, and Saint-Dizier in the Ardennes region east of Paris. In
the eastern city of Strasbourg near the German border, 18 cars were set
ablaze, police said.
Seven classrooms went up in flames in the Essonne region south of
Paris.
The number of cars torched overnight - 1,295 across France - was the
highest since the violence began Oct. 27, France-Info radio and other
French media reported. Police, who earlier put the number at 918, did not
immediately confirm the figure.
The night before, 900 vehicles were burned throughout the country.

Villepin on Saturday and urged the government to choose its words carefully
and send a message of peace.
"In such difficult circumstances, every word counts," Boubakeur said.
The anger over the deaths of the teenagers spread to the Internet, with
sites mourning the youths.
Along with messages of condolence and appeals for calm were insults
targeting police, threats of more violence and warnings that the unrest
will feed support for France's anti-immigration extreme right.
Arsonists have also burned grocery stores, video stores and other
businesses in what Hamon called "copycat" crimes. "All these hoodlums see
others setting fires and say they can do it, too."
France has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe with 5
million people.

Iranian state television has broadcast a cartoon that glorifies suicide
bombings against Israelis, depicting a young boy blowing himself up
after being told: "Go and show the Zionists how brave and heroic are the
children of Palestine."
The cartoon, one of a series shown by the Islamic Republic of Iran
Broadcasting on "Jerusalem Day" nine days ago, presents the actions of a
boy who kills himself to strike back against Israelis as a noble example
for children to follow.
More professionally produced and graphic than previous Iranian
propaganda aimed at children, the cartoon appears to be part of a campaign led
by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to elevate the issue of the
destruction of Israel. The day before the cartoon was shown, he declared at a
World Without Zionism conference: "This stain of disgrace [Israel] will be
wiped off the face of the world - and this is attainable."
His comments were greeted with outrage in the West and prompted Tony
Blair to suggest that military action might be required against Iran if
progress towards a nuclear bomb continued.
At the start of the 10-minute animated film, translated into English by
the Middle East Media Research Institute (Memri), Abd al-Rahman, a
Palestinian youth, watches as Israeli soldiers murder his family.
They are depicted laughing as they strike his mother in the face with a
rifle butt and then shoot his father, whose blood splashes the oranges
on the trees he cultivated.
Abd comforts his sister and weeps, declaring: "Oh God, I must take
revenge upon these bloodthirsty aggressors, who murdered my father, mother
and brother." His cousin Karim introduces him to a neighbour's son,
Jassem, who is a member of a "resistance group".
Jassem instructs the boys to take part in an attack against Israeli
soldiers, applauding their "deep faith" and telling them that they "may
become martyrs". Abd's aunt bids the boys a tearful farewell. "God
willing, you'll be successful," she says. "Go, my children. Go and show the
Zionists how brave and heroic are the children of Palestine."
As he lies in wait, Abd ties a string of grenades around his waist. The
convoy approaches and the cartoon shows satanic-faced Israeli soldiers
sitting in a lorry around an ammunition box decorated with a Star of
David.
Abd shouts, "I place my trust in God. Allah Akbar", pulls the grenade
pins and leaps onto the lorry. When the smoke clears, the bodies of Abd,
the Israeli troops and the attackers are strewn around the road.
A young Palestinian boy then walks over to Abd's body, takes his
bloodstained keffiyeh head-dress, drapes it over his own shoulders and walks
off into the sunset.
Dan Shaham, a spokesman for the Israeli embassy in London, said: "This
phenomenon of inciting children to commit suicide attacks is revolting.
It corrupts young minds and makes sure conflict continues. President
Ahmadinejad is not only dangerous in the here-and-now but the Iranian
extremist ideology is affecting future generations. Something needs to be
done today."
The Iranian embassy declined to comment. Last week, it emerged that
Mohammad Hossein Adeli, Iran's ambassador to Britain, was being recalled
to Teheran in a worldwide purge of about 40 Iranian diplomats ordered by
Mr Ahmadinejad.
Ali Ansari, an Iranian analyst at St Andrew's University, said the
cartoon was "gory stuff" and different from previous anti-Israeli
propaganda. "It's interesting they've gone to these lengths to develop a cartoon
like this that is obviously directed towards kids.
"Anti-Zionism is one of the ideological pillars of the Islamic
republic. But Ahmadinejad's comments went beyond the standard ideological diet,
because by implication they applauded suicide bombers and condemned
anyone who makes peace with Israel."
This was the equivalent of trying to be "more Catholic than the Pope",
he said, because the Palestinians now accepted that there must be a
two-state solution to the Middle East conflict - in contrast to President
Ahmadinejad's policy of destroying Israel and replacing it with a new
Palestinian state.
A spokesman for Memri said that the cartoon was one of 10 being
translated. In another, Palestinian children throw aubergines at Israeli
soldiers who think they are being attacked with grenades and flee.
Such naive propaganda fits in with Mr Ahmadinejad's simplistic world
view and is likely to alienate most ordinary Iranians who, as Shia
Persians, rather than Sunni Arabs, are far from fixated on the Palestinian
issue.
"Ahmadinejad is not a shrewd political operator," said Dr Ansari. "Most
Iranians want to focus on domestic problems and this [his anti-Israeli
stance] is alarming the international community and creating huge
anxiety in Iran."
A British diplomat in London said: "The increase in anti-Israeli
propaganda and Ahmadinejad's dangerous rhetoric will only serve to alienate
him from his people and further isolate Iran. For the West, as well as
Israel, the prospect of this man having his finger on a nuclear button
is truly horrifying."

AN Al-Qaeda website containing detailed instructions in Arabic on how
to make nuclear, "dirty" and biological bombs has attracted more than
57,000 hits and hundreds of readers' inquiries. Terrorism experts are
warning that the site could be boosting the organisation's appeal to
would-be assassins in Britain and abroad.
The manual, posted on October 6 on a forum titled Al-Firdaws, or
Paradise, contains 80 pages of instructions and pictures of kitchen
bomb-making techniques. It is divided into nine lessons under the overall
heading The Nuclear Bomb of Jihad and the Way to Enrich Uranium, and is
dedicated as a "gift to the commander of the jihad fighters, Sheikh Osama
Bin Laden, for the purpose of jihad for the sake of Allah".
As well as describing how to make a nuclear bomb from enriched uranium
-- impossible for the layman -- the manual explains how to make simple
bombs that can blow up anything from electrical generators to petrol
stations.
The site encourages its readers to look for materials such as radium,
which it says is an "effective alternative to uranium and available on
the market". It is unclear who the author is or where he is based: he
describes himself simply as "Layth al-Islam", or the "Lion of Islam",
belonging to a group called "the Black Flags".
"Fight them so that Allah will punish them at your hands and will put
them to shame and will give you victory over them," he writes, quoting
the Koran. "Perhaps nuclear weapons represent a technology of the 1940s.
However, the Crusaders, the allies of the Satan, Allah's curse be upon
them, insist on depriving the jihad fighters of the right to have these
weapons."

But actually, these are no more than words. When Sarkozy speak about being strong, he is not at all, and he
has not done anything to put in practice what he tells.
Another problem with Sarkozy is that he is the one who has given a huge political power to Islamist by
creating an official Muslim Organization.
Why hasn't the French government called out their Army to restore order? One possible reason for reticence:
A substantial number of French Army soldiers are Muslims and their loyalty is in doubt.
A large chunk of France's ethnic immigrants come from the country's former North African colonies. Many
have failed to break away from low-income housing projects, and experts say they are often marginalized in
terms of educational opportunities and jobs.
Today, these ethnic immigrants represent between 10-20 percent of French soldiers, a figure that is growing,
the French Institute report notes.
The French government tries to hide data about crime rates by race and other race-related information. So it
is hard to know how many French soldiers are Muslim. I recently came across a claim that 23% of French
military recruits are Muslim. Anyone come across better information on the ethnic make-up of the French
military? That correspondent says the Muslim recruits are rebellious and religious and cultural clashes
routinely play out in French military barracks. But a recent report by a French research institute improbably
claims that the North Africans in the French military are just as patriotic toward France as are
Frenchmen.
M. Bertossi reported that beur soldiers feel "just as patriotic as the rest" and are especially motivated in the
struggle against terrorism, which they see as a slur on Islam. But the loyalty of the French-Islamic troops
was "constantly questioned" by their officers and comrades.
While some Muslims undoubtedly feel the way Bertossi claims quite a few do not. I bet top French policy
makers have doubts about whether French Army Muslim soldiers would obey orders if sent out to restore
order in the Muslim suburbs around Paris.
The Brussels Journal web log has a lot of coverage of the effects of Muslim immigration on European
society. The French government also doesn't want to call out the Army because to do so would be an
admission of the scale of the problem.
The latter, however, is unlikely to happen. If the politicians bring in the army they are acknowledging what
the policemen, the fire fighters and the ambulance drivers know but what the political and media
establishment wants to hide from the people: that there is civil war brewing and that Europe is in for a long
period of armed conflict. This is the last thing appeasing politicians want to do and so they have begun to
criticise Sarkozy.
Of course by failing to quickly and ruthlessly put down the rebellion the French government is allowing it to
spread so that it really ends up looking far larger. French media censorship can not hide all this from the
French public.
That previous post also relays reports about "no-go" zones in Belgian and Swedish cities where Muslim
immigrant groups keep out fire fighters, rescue vehicles, and even police.
Paris-based Iranian writer Amir Taheri reports that some Muslims want to create their own local
sovereignties free from French sovereign government control.
Some are even calling for the areas where Muslims form a majority of the population to be reorganized on the
basis of the "millet" system of the Ottoman Empire: Each religious community (millet) would enjoy the right to
organize its social, cultural and educational life in accordance with its religious beliefs.
In parts of France, a de facto millet system is already in place. In these areas, all women are obliged to wear
the standardized Islamist "hijab" while most men grow their beards to the length prescribed by the sheiks.
The radicals have managed to chase away French shopkeepers selling alcohol and pork products, forced
"places of sin," such as dancing halls, cinemas and theaters, to close down, and seized control of much of
the local administration.

"Burglary Suspect Shot After Attacking Officer With Sledge Hammer"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "MEMPHIS -A burglary suspect is in critical condition, after attacking a Memphis police officer with a sledge hammer. It happened early Friday morning at Smokers Shop off Appling Road in East Memphis.
Police say the suspect who has since been identified as 29-year old Dennis Hawkins broke into businesses next to Smoker's Shop and was trying to break through a wall of the tobacco store with a sledge hammer when he was approached by officer Robert Young. Hawkins was shot twice by Young after hitting Young with the long handle sledge hammer in the mouth and head. Hawkins ran from officers, but was arrested at a nearby BP Station.
Hawkins has been charged with burglary, aggravated assault and resisting official detention."
