Unrest spreads to nine French towns
And last week they were rioting in
Birmingham, UK as I just noted in the last thread. Melanie Phillips goes into the
political reasons for the media's silence (reported already on LGF): 'minorities' must be victims and not agressors. But this is really approaching open revolt in Europe, and lunatic violence in India and Indonesia, and lunatic threats from pre-atomic Iran.
We've had similar incidents here in Australia.

The French crackdown, when it comes, and it will come, will be very hsrsh. Most don't realize that France is very much an authoritarian state, with civil liberties not given anywheres near the same values that we place on them...magistrates can order suspects detained for months, for example, without any charges being filed. Then we can probably expect a big terrorist attack as a "protest" somewheres in France...most likely Paris..

I heard one of the FoxNews hourly news updates yesterday. The news-reader mentioned the fires and rioting in Paris. Not one word about their ethnicity or religion. Reader made it sound as if it were a bunch of malcontent thugs.

You kill a few of the ringleaders and the mob loses its taste for pillage and burning. They let this fester far too long.

This is the sixth or seventh day.
I think we are seeing a revolution in progress, not a riot. There are reports of similar things in Belgium now.
If the French could stop it, I think they would have by now. They know that if they really anger the TROP (tm), all of Paris will burn. Also, the EU is becoming very muslim friendly, so they can't do much and be PC.

I just finished reading a marvelous collection of essays by Theodore Dalrymple, "Our Culture, What's Left of It: The Mandarins and the Masses". It includes an essay, "Barbarians at the Gates of Paris" in which he describes how the French built these massive housing projects for foreign workers beginning in the sixties, called cites. They've basically evolved into mini Falujas, ringing the city. Gangs involved in theft and drug-dealing are in possession of sophisticated weaponry obtained from rogue states. Once Chirac visited one of the cites, "Les Musiciens", during an election campaign, and was greeted with Molotov cocktails!

That's a very prescient, and scary, observation..not quite sure if I go along with it..more likely, the AQ ringleaders are hoping to incite a French crackdown, to then use it as the pretext for a "big event.." They'll probably want to blow up the Paris sewer system...it's a very vulnerable target, but since the French never bathe, they wouldn't notice it..

It seems we are coming to the fight too late. And thousands have already been mesmerized by the ROP to defend them. Like the cult rescuers, the ROP rescuers are viewed with disdain, even hatred. For the rescuers speak of the truth, they speak of abuses suffered, they reveal the pshycopath within. The teachings are twisted to the service of man and as such cannot be the service of God.
The thousands will bend to the ROP out of respect. For now it is PC, soon that will change to respect for their strength and numbers. Will all be lost at that point?
Hope lies in Afghanistan and Iraq. The rescuers there are now hated and despised around the globe, but those who have been rescued tell a quiet story of strength & hope. They have gone out in the streets to vote. In fear of the backlash and yet, the rescued have come forward. The Islamic Republic is crumbling in its heart as the foreign front is push forward. This is why the fight is escalating in the heart of islam.
The riots are of frustration. A frustration bore out because they cannot take over some areas because people have the right to choose. So, the islamic march into the western world is slow, the memorization methodical, the overthrow of the media nearly complete, they now will take our laws into their islamic hands and use it against us for they are the victims and winners. And those who would be rescuers will be slaughtered in the streets from London to the Netherlands to Spain to Paris to the US and around the globe.

Here's what I was looking for:
http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/119
"Is Prince Charles a Convert to Islam? In a 1997 Middle East Quarterly article titled "Prince Charles of Arabia," Ronni L. Gordon and David M. Stillman looked at evidence that Britain's Prince Charles might be a secret convert to Islam. They shifted through his public statements (defending Islamic law, praising the status of Muslim women, seeing in Islam a solution for Britain's ailments) and actions (setting up a panel of twelve "wise men" to advise him on Islamic religion and culture), then concluded that, "should Charles persist in his admiration of Islam and defamation of his own culture," his accession to the throne will indeed usher in a "different kind of monarchy."
Interesting conjecture. Anyone with brains, that must exclude the bumbling farce from Windsor, knows that Islam is not in the West's best interest....

Much of Europe has forgotten or ignored their history between 700 and 1300.
Their ancestors faced a similar invasive situation, and it took them 600 years to 'correct' the situation.
[North America will face a similar dilemma during this century.]

I remember our own riots back when MLK was shot. What did we do? We stood around, even brought in the National Guard to stand around. Not a one of them had a bullet in their rifles. Eventually the rioters wound down and we apologised to them for causing them to loot and steal. Then we gave them more affirmative action jobs , more welfare, better housing, and right to this day all they have to do is claim discrimination and we send 20 Billion dollars to New Orleans.
Nah, this rioting in Paris will wind down slowly and the mussies causing the problem will be treated much the same as we treated our own rioters.

The silence of the muslim world is beyond disturbing.
Actually, the silence of the Muslim world is typical. They were silent when the Khobar Towers were attacked. They were silent when the USS Cole was attacked. They were silent when the WTC towers were attacked. They have been silent for decades over the routine, random and arbitrary slaughter of innocent Israelis by homocide bombers. They were silent when the murderers killed dozens in crowded Bali nightclubs. In fact, they have a history of remaining silent about the atrocities that have been committed in the name of the "Religion of Peace".
We are often told that the majority of Muslims are peaceful and God fearing, but their vocal chords were, apparently, cut at birth because they allow the slaughter of innocents to continue in their name and SAY NOTHING to refute the terrorist murderers who have hijacked their religion and murder in their name. What we have learned of Islam is that it is the religion of hate, murder, oppression and slavery. The God they claim allegiance to is NOT the same God to whom I have declared my allegiance. And I believe that it is to my God that they must answer to when they take their celestial dirt nap.

More like a pogrom than a riot, my friend..You are absolutely correct, but in the "department of unintended consequences" that riot, and the tragic death of Yankel Rosenbauim, probably led to Guiliani's election as mayor, and put him in the right place on 9/11..Rudy is now an iconic figure, and deservedly so.but we have already forgotten that before 9/11 most of the city wanted him gone..

France is the target for radical Islam because its possible. First they have a large fifth column in place, they have a large and nearly unguarded border and like the rest of the West the modern taboos of liberalism will prevent action when it is needed. Islam will have its nuclear armed base in the heart of Europe even faster than Tony Blankely imagined.

The French are going to have another Revolution. This time it will be between the Muslims and the French French.
We lived in France for a number of years and the one thing that was understood was that there is little tolerance for racial diversity. They will tolerate it in foreigners but not in their own. LePen is still very strong and there are many "conservatives" in France. I would not be surprised to see it become a guerrilla war between the Muslims and the "French" people.
I would hate to see Paris in ruins, but the Government has accommodated the situation for too many years and the Terrorists would love nothing more than to take over the City of Love.

And on the first day we'll dress this city in flames
After all the things you say
You hate me for being this way
Still you won't let go of old ideals
There is no headline to read at night
When the record slips and you're not holding the needle
We all sing the songs of separation
And we watch our lives bleed out through our hands
Thats how it was on the first day
We saw Paris in Flames
