What you both say is true.....my ears, however, can only listen for so long....if he could JUST tone it down a notch, I would gladly listen longer (I know you realize that I'm not taking away from the substance of what he says....I just have to be in the frame of mind to not let it grate.....)

Hey, a fresh face. Welcome. As you can tell from my tag, I am a big Tony Snow fan. Tony is less agressive [he would argue more civil] in his approach, but he has good connections and great insight.

Try him for a week or two and I think you will become a fan, too.

Toned down radio broadcasts are just not Savages'style IMHO. That's probably why he wants to take more time off. It takes a lot out of you to broadcast at that level all the time.

Right on. It's been a long time since I've felt the need to try and be rational with any liberal. They're beyond being talked to like adults, and don't even know the definition of rationality or convictions above political affiliation. When all democrats circled the wagons around clinton time after time after time when scandal after scandal surfaced from him for eight years, that's when I stopped trying to be rational and debate any liberal. If a Republican President had done just one quarter of what clinton had done, we'd of all cut him loose and run him out of the party with a pointy stick. The fact that the democrats don't self-govern within the party, to me, proves that there is NO reason to treat them as intellectual equals. When someone is in denial about the facts and reality of the world, they're not worth being talked to as if they're adults.

Agreed. Hugh has great interviews although I've recently been listening to Levin during that slot. As to Bennett, he's on during Tony Snow who is great. It's a veritable smorgasbord for us news/political junkies out there--all the while monitoring and jumping in on FreeRepublic....

I listen to Mark Simone every Sat. morning and enjoy his show. He made a CD about John Kerry during the election, and it should have been run nationwide. He's interested in a variety of things, including Frank Sinatra. Several years ago he had a Sinatra show on WABC.

And like all typical liberals, she just runs RIGHT PAST good fact based arguments with evidence able to be cited to back them up, and just runs right past them as though you didn't even say it. THAT is why liberals are not worth the time to debate. They don't even recognize when you prove them wrong with fact and evidence. They look at you with their empty little heads and blank little eyes, and come back with a great retort like "Bush lied!" 8)

I'm a big Mark Simone fan. I don't know that he's in the same category as Rush, Sean, etc. in terms of what he does - he seems to be more in the "celebrity interview" mold. He also was a rock DJ and had a weekly Frank Sinatra retrospective on WABC a while back.

To the extent that there is any politics on his
Saturday morning radio show, he is more of a New York - Rudy/Bloomberg type of Republican. Not a good fit with what I think of as the Free Republic crowd, and he's not into heavy political philosophy at all. It's not what he's about. BUT he was, and is, tremendously effective in combating the "loony left." His criticisms of Kerry last year were very reasoned and effective, I think. I'd recommend him if you want a mix of politics, news, etc.
