Everything you said is probably true but I still think Rush is right.

ping to 57. Upon further contemplation, I think Hoagland's essay was one-third satire, one-third Wash Post modified limited hangout, and one-third signal to the parties involved at the CIA to crawl back under their rocks and not air out policy differences in public.

However, it's hard to tell which third is which. Which, IMO, was intentional.

Wilson is desperately trying to keep the focus on Karl Rove and get him indicted. It's the whole shooting match for him. If Rove is cleared, even if Libby is convicted, Joe Wilson slowly sinks into oblivion. But if Rove is indicted, Joe Wilson becomes a permanent God in liberal circles, confirming his own inflated opinion of himself, guaranteeing him fat speaking fees and book sales, and justifying all the lies he told and his own ruination of his wife's career.

I believe he is simply lying about Fitzgerald calling him the day after Rove testified. That is just too convenient and makes no sense, except that his blabbing about it to the media kept them focused on Rove. He goes on Larry King this week and makes a point, apropos of nothing, to say that Karl Rove goes to his church, implying that of course he knew who his wife was. Why mention this now when nothing has implicated Rove?

There you go again....making sense. (Sorry, read your recent post about working in the Reagan administration-corny as it is, I couldn't resist. It's a sickness, LOL!. BTW, Reagan will prove to be the greatest President of my lifetime, not to mention in the top 3 of all time. Washington and Madison are not bad company.)

Losers are losers and it is a waste of time to try to figure them out. Wilson is a loser. Stupid, too. If he made the claim Rove knew of his wife from church, it is because the "evil genius" can either read minds or it was common knowledge.

I do like to read posts you and others who have been on the "inside". It is educational and gives a good frame of reference.

I really like Rush on this topic. While he is late to the game, he reaches a larger audience than I or FR!

Some new stuff from Strata-sphere:

The Plame Game has been bursting with new information and new players (as well as the Able Danger Story) so keeping in straight can be difficult. Sometime you just have to reread things to see dots that need connecting. Recently Tom Maguire noted Nick Kristofs (accidental?) disclosure that Valeries was CAI station chief []

The final portion of this three part post is the Q&A session for the EPIC Forum on Iraq held in June 2003. The Q&A session was for Ray McGovern and Joe Wilson and their discussions I posted in previously. Below I post the essence of the question and the essence of the response []

This is the second in a series of posts on the the EPIC forum on Iraq in June of 2003 - right after the NY Times and Washington Post exposes on Wilson travels and just before Wisons debut in July of 2003. This post is on the Wilson talk (40 minutes). The first []

I had to listen to Ray McGovern and Wilson at the EPIC convention in June 2003 to get some idea of what the media and democrats would be setting themselves up for. It appears Ray McGovern is another Cindy Sheehan.
McGovern starts out talking about how our Flag needs to be washed to remove stains []

Time for a major Plame update and some synthesizing of revelations from sources far and wide.
I want to start out with Tom Maguires recent post on Andrea Mitchells equivocations. While it may seem somewhat pathetic, it also may not bode well for someone. I have never learned whether Mitchell testified to []

I don't agree that Wilson's trip was a set-up from the start.

The facts back you up on this:

Contrary to what Rush said, President Bush's mention of the "yellowcake", in the State of the Union (Jan. 2003) came AFTER Wilson's trip to Niger, in Feb. 2002.

There was no way in Feb. 2002 that Wilson-Plame could know that the British would come out with a White Paper, in Sept. 2002, alleging the purchase, or that Pres. Bush would cite that report a few months later.

That being said, Plame compromised her cover by bringing in her husband to her CIA business, and then allowing him to go public with it. Thus, there was no crime in "leaking" her name to the press.
