If foreign investors reach the conclusion that US assets are over valued and begin to disinvest in the US or simply decide to repatriate capital to invest in their own countries (foreign markets have recently been out performing US markets) we could have a financial crisis on our hands.

And where do you think those foreign investors would put their money? It is here because we have a good record, good regulations, and legal protections that do not exist elsewhere.

Yep Jindal would have made a world of difference, both in real terms and pr which appears in reality to be just as important. Blanco has one final chance with this special session. There was a rumor that there was senate revolt brewing with an change of leadership from Blancos guy to Sen Cravins. We will see. I hate to say this to everyone but without Federal assistance for reconstruction this state is in serious jeopardy. The special session is going to be reality time. The cuts I am hearing are quite huge. Louisiana's I think are going to be shocked. Most fearsome is the cuts to higher education and to hospitals. It should be interesting.

It is very unfortunate since the very thing LA needs to pay the bills, more Federal largesse, will just make the state ever more dependent on Washington, and make it ever more difficult to pull out of the cycle.
