The article say this happened in the White Rock Lake section of Dallas, which is a very old part of Dallas that has seen a lot of rejuvenation in the past few years. It is a lovely area.
Thank God and the Texas laws which allowed this citizen to save his life and his income when the criminal decided to call on him. Also--it's great to see how well the store owner handled the entire situation.
Too bad about the cold, dead perp! Here's one sucker that surely learned that crime doesn't pay.

I think I'll run to the TV and turn on CNN and anxiously await the press conference from the Brady Bunch on ANOTHER armed citizen defending himself against certain death [poor, innocent, downtrodden victim of Bush's racism and economic policies get needlessly gunned down by a right-wing Christian Bush acolyte just for trying to do what he had to do to feed his starving family].
The Brady Bunch press conference you'll actually see.

Risky. About like pushing the muzzle of an automatic out of battery... Aye. When it works it's a real good trick.

Is there still a New Hampshire? I thought it had been dissolved and its place taken by an appendage of Massachusetts
To: Mr. Mojo
If this ending keeps coming up, the Feds will come up with a law that the perps must get in the first shot.

I saw the tape on TV. The owner acted like an action hero, like it was rehearsed. I would not like to take this guy on.

We're simply doing what we can to cull the herd. Well as one New Englander who sees too many illegal immigrants "up here", please start culling the herd RIGHT AT THE BORDER!

Wellllll... I dunno about that (American Patriot). Stereotyping at it's best here. Convenience store... Middle Eastern decent(?).

The robber had a revolver, and Mr. Latif said he grabbed its rotating chamber as the man tried to shoot him. At the same time, he drew his own gun and fired. I've heard of that trick as well as pushing an auto out of battery, but this is the first time I've heard of anyone actually doing it. Great work on the part of the clerk.

We'll just put that down as a "no". That statement just elicited a big guffaw from me. Thanks for the laugh!

I just read the Dallas Morning News reference and presumed this happened in Dallas. And why would you presume that?
Did you draw the conclusion from this?

No... he shot a 21 year old kid in the face, not exactly a typical "self defense" target.
To: Prodn2000
What are you trying to say here? That we should give a damn about this thug's age? If it had been a 12-year-old kid, he should have been sent off to his reward as well.
