The list goes on and on... I can't figure this country out. French troops allowed Rwandan troops and Hutu extremists to enter camps where Tutsis had sought refuge. French peacekeepers also appeared to side with the Hutu government and against the Tutsi-based Rwandan Patriotic Front, led by Mr Kagame, which had been responsible for an armed incursion into Rwanda in 1990 from exile. In at least one case, French troops moved United Nations peacekeepers away from a college where they were protecting 2,000 Tutsis. After the peacekeepers were moved, the Tutsis were slaughtered.
The only possible explanation I can think of is the French suffer from a deeply ingrained national inferiority complex. They will sell nuclear technology to anyone, coddle any dictator, appease any aggressor in the fiction that they're major players expanding their sphere of influence on the world stage. They can't accept that they're a middle power now, having sold off their power as a faithful Christian nation. Their entire foriegn policy seems to be centered around reacting to being whipped by the USA for influence in the world.
It smells like shi'ite..
