Since Rush mentioned a burned car count today, I gathered together some sources online, and compiled this site. I will do my best to keep the page updated until the rioting ceases. If you have more information or better numbers, let me know.

Any news on the makes / models of the burned cars?
Just curious as to the most-burnt numbers - I might be in the market next year...

Just remeber in keeping the count--Peugeot's only count 1/2 and Fiat's don't count at all.

Overnight Sunday-Monday, vandals burned more than 1,400 vehicles in France, as well as churches, schools and businesses. Clashes around the country left 36 police officers injured, National Police Chief Michel Gaudin said. Attacks were reported in 274 towns, and police made 395 arrests.
AND THIS IS JUST SUNDAY-MONDAY!

How do you differentiate between the cars burned in the riots and those that normally go up in flames on a day to day basis?

Doesn't anybody get it?
This is all being orchestrated by " Big Auto" to sell more vehicles.
We can probably track this back to the offices of Renault, Daimler Chrysler, etc.
/Sarcasm off
Thanks for the count precedence.

"Maybe a beer for every car?"
Why not shots of whiskey or sake? That way, we can feel as disoriented as the French policiticians...

It will be like McDonalds... millions and millions burned...
To: precedence
Are you going to break this down to military burnt out cars, police burnt out cars, civilian burnt out cars, non-combatant burnt out cars that were caught in crossfires, and the occassional LeCar that caught on fire all by itself because it was a piece of junk?
Will SUV's be reported on this thread or another one?
Will this information be reported to Kerry and Kennedy and not only to Bush who may or may not be accused of lying about the number of cars or if they existed at all?
Will any cars be tortured?

Greenpeace is trying to duck this one because someone has suggested they be the ones to write the enviromental impact statement. Remember your history, Greenpeace is at war with the French Navy. To jog your memory on that, France won its only naval victory in two hundred years in a sea battle in New Zealand over Greenpeace.

Yeah, and they burned about 25 city buses in a row, not to mention the ones they highjacked that were in use. Maybe next they'll flog their own feet.
To: precedence
You might want to change the source on November 4th from "Bangcock" to "Bangkok".

The French navy defeated the Greenpeace boats? I'm amazed.
(I do recall that the US's first battle after declaring war on Nazi Germany was to destroy the French navy.)
