A friend of mine who was in the field in the '90's told me that the NSA's unit of computational power, at that time, was the "Cray acre." I don't know if this is still the case.
When he told me this I laughed out loud. I stopped laughing as I searched his face for signs he was joking.

I've heard references to the "Cray Acre" before. Given the NSA's black budget, I suspect it's probably true. In fact, I'd be surprised if it wasn't.
