LOLOLOL!!!! Let's add a few more metaphors into the mix....I just had a hoot with the imagery!!!
And the "Holiday Tree" outside the U.S. Capitol Building doesn't bother you?
Before the stores open their doors in the morning, management has to slink away to locked offices so the public can't see their horns and cloven hooves!
You can just feel the eeeeeevil flowing from those bastions of capitalist greed.
Eeeewwww. Icky.
Went to the link: 12 toys of christmas.
Is this what the Catholic League is complaining about, that Walmart isn't being open and honest enough about selling us toys for 12 days of christmas?
Christmas is a deeply significant religious holiday, not an excuse for excessive consumption. Why the Catholic league is complaining about Walmart trying to help us out in that regard is beyond me.
Except for the minor fact that searching for Christmas brings up a Christmas tree (labeled as such) with a link to all things Christmas.
Your comment that they "refuse to acknowledge Christmas" is what, then? Did you "mis-speak"?
And so? Just about any common item has been worshiped for myriad purposes. It has happened whether or not the Bible has documented it or not. You'd have to be satisfied to have an empty house.
I really agree with them. Jewish families celebrate Hannakuh, not Christmas. I think it's stupid to act like Christmas is a dirty word, but in retail you do have to consider all your customers. Capitalism and all.
"Everything? I don't think so. Some stuff, but you'll find Chinese-made goods in every store in this country. I think you're incorrect, there, Jim." Wal-Mart spent $18 billion on goods from Chinese suppliers in 2004. They spent $150 billion on goods from US suppliers. The poster hasn't a clue about what it speaks.
I just e-mailed the Catholic League to tell them that if they would bother to actually step foot in a Wal-Mart & look for themselves they'd realize how stupid their press release is.
The Catholic League = Anti-Defamation League.
So you were so po'ed that you missed the link right below that specifically reads Not what you're looking for? View a list of items that match your search for "christmas".
'e's repressing me!
It is not that at all....
When you search for "Christmas" it returns so many results that it takes you to the Wal-Mart main "Holiday" page. But if you REALLY want to see all their items with the word "Christmas in it (all 7970) you just click the link.
You get the SAME type of results if you search for "garden". It says "We've brought you to our "Garden and Patio" page based on your search."
"Christmas is such a broad term, it just takes you to the Holiday portion of the website.
Wal Mart is already a last resort for me anyway, regardless of the validity of this report.
The merchandise is crap, its crowded and it has a third-world feel to it. There are pallets of stuff sitting in the ailes which are narrow to begin with, fwiw.
Looks like a labor union dirty trick campaign. The unions can't organize Walmart and use every underhanded trick in the book to get the union dues of 142,000 people.
Oh, and have you ever fastened your Christmas tree with "nails" so it "will not totter"? I've see all kinds of devices (especially in the presence of frisky pets) but oddly enough, never nails.
