Just stand somewhere near the flags with a sign announcing flags to remember aborted babies from, oh, before lunch today...the scale is just staggering.
I don't like abortion but when I go to Waterville I will stay on topic.
I do not mean to take anything away from Veterans Day and its meaning. The men and women who have died in Iraq/Afghanistan in service to our country mean nothing to these people. But you gotta know that those protesting would go bonkers if you turned their protest on them.
Waterville, Maine is a college town and a very pro-military town with a large American Legion and VFW.
This is an sad example of what happens when you let your guard down, and let town institutions be taken over and besmirched by left-wing loonies.
Get over being PC and get on with being pro-USA!
I find Leftists are continually trying to feed me bulls***, and tell me it's soft-serve chocolate. I had one do it in another forum today. They lie and don't even seem to realize they are doing it.
With all due respect it will hurt them more to have families of our troops speak out than to throw in the topic of abortion. That could actually hurt the cause of pro life to bring that into the fray.
I hope you are right.
One would hope so. If I'm going to a pro life rally I take an anti-abortion sign. If I'm going to a troop support rally I carry a sign that states support the troops.
I'll bet O'Reilly would jump on this story big time. Why don't you contact him?
I think this is a load of B.S. My dad is the main leader of the group that pulled up the flags and got arrested. It's such B.S. War Protesters are/and always have been stupid, but putting signs and white flags on a Veterans site takes the cake. It really does. Not even counting the fact that it's a memorial site dedicated to Veterans, but the fact that it's the burial site for a few Revolutionary War veterans. Every one of them war protesters deserve to rot in jail!!!
I want to share this with you from Tasmanian red...
"Pacifists are parasites.
They enjoy the freedom won by someone else's blood.
They demand the benefits without bearing any of the burden.
Their philosophy is just an excuse to conceal cowardice.
The would be most usefully utilized as land mind detectors if you get my drift."
Sums it up rather well, huh?

Okay!
I'll compose an e-mail to him tonight!
What could it hurt?

Let me state that Bridges for Peace and Justice, which I renamed Bridges for Contention and Injustice, is all about their political agenda, and not at all about saving lives, as they have stated, or bringing about peace. They want to 'dialog,' as they put it. Let them "dialog" with the terrorists in Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, London, any area hit by terrorism. Freedom is not free, we must pay dearly to attain this. We are planting the seeds of freedom in the mideast now...give it two more generations and it will be accepted as the norm. Bush will be regarded as a visionary and a hero for daring to push terrorism out. Meanwhile, he has the guts to stick it out and more power to him.
Hi: Found you here! Anyhow, yuupppp...they did hurt the guys' arms...we are talking about nearly 60 year old men...in one case, and others in their late 40's and 50's...one in his 70's. These are brave guys...sorry, but this WAS a setup...and ya know...we never guessed! The vets thought they'd be doing a good thing to yank those flags...but instead the cameras were there, it was lit up like daylight, and the cops were all over the place. They had no choice whatsoever but to proceed with civil disobedience honorably. They did not resist arrest. Every cop on duty ws there, and then some...bro said later that his arms still hurt. Pisses me right off...but people brutality won't hold up to police brutality. They got the guns but we got 'em in the Globe, though! One-upped those yuppy creeps...worn-out hippies and sympathizer chief who knows just how to NOT behave like a man.
Hmmm...I think I like that, is it ok to use it when I write my latest letter to the editor at the Sentinel?? Good words...My WWII dad sent his very first letter to the editor in last evening! Imagine...this travesty is a catalyst for much good that will yet come to be!
Livin' in the midst of this madness and lovin' the Globe for choosing the right vets to interview...
Now THERE is a creative idea. Turn the tables on them by using the flags to represent abortion/Saddam's victims/9/11 dead. Use lots of BIG signs and lots of people to march around the display.
I don't know if you remember my postings from back then, but it was my impression (and we'll probably never know for sure) that the Adjutant General got his STFU orders directly from the Emperor (Baldaccivich) who had been given an offer he couldn't refuse from his immediate superiors in the ME Teacher's Union.
The two Officers who had mentioned the issue to Channel 5 in Bangor, where the Reporters apparently overheard it being discussed among Family Members of deploying NG Troops - one was a Chaplain, IIRC - have never been seen or heard from since, as far as I know.
My speculation was that they were promptly deployed to East Timor as Latrine construction advisors to the Portugese Corps of Engineers, and they liked it so much that they just retired there.
Or perhaps they were eaten by the natives.
I don't really know, do you?
