Contrary to ongoing reports by mainstream media outlets, WMDs have been found in Iraq, so reports New York Times best-selling author Richard Miniter in his new book, Disinformation.
Consider these shocking facts:
• Found: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium
• Found: 1,500 gallons of chemical weapons
• Found: Roadside bomb loaded with sarin gas
• Found: 1,000 radioactive materials--ideal for radioactive dirty bombs
• Found: 17 chemical warheads--some containing cyclosarin, a nerve agent five times more powerful than sarin
This is only a partial list of the deadly weapons Miniter reveals in his new book, Disinformation. Miniter systematically dissects the "No-WMD Myth" (how it started, and why it continues), as well as 21 other War-on-Terror myths perpetuated by the media.
Right on the money. The US military spiked the news story when the Polish army found a few liters of cyclosarin. Bush doesn't want terrorists finding this stuff and using it against our troops or Iraqi civilians. Bush is a supremely confident man. He knew he could still win in 2004 without announcing that we have found a lot of WMD.
I think it's also because whatever we find in Iraq, the MSM will spin it as an insignificant amount of WMD. This is because the MSM wants to discredit Bush and the US military. It's also because people in the MSM lack any scientific education and they do not understand the incredible lethality of WMD, which means Saddam didn't need warehouses full of WMD to launch a devastating terrorist attack on America. I don't want to get into the details, but just a few gallons of nerve agents would be enough for a horrific terror attack.
This is a tough deal all around. So far, it is damaging the presidency but I don't know what the better alternative is. Perhaps Bush has a grand plan to let the Iraqis discover some WMD in a "previously unknown location" at a later date.
No dirt on Miniter - good guy, smart, opinionated, knew his stuff. No unseemly things that I am aware of.

I am afraid you may well have hit upon the real reason, that there is such strong compelling reason, that he opted to take the hits, than to reveal them. For example, we have satellite photos of truck moving from Iraq to Syria and some intel that they contained WMD, we should be able to verify that, but nobody has, at least not in the open. What I just pointed out was out in some news stories, which died down.
President Bush has a very difficult job indeed, and people, in stead of trusting his judgment, are falling for the Dem lies. Of course it's not totally surprising, because the Dems have been hammering at this for almost three years.
That's just plain evil!
We are in agreement on "sentiment" for the most part (regarding WMDs) - And absolutely in agreement with the need for us to be successful in the GWOT -
However your above comment just isn't accurate - In that it isn't just that easy to verify (suggesting we should have been able to do that by now) - Eyes in the sky are great for lots of things (in the macro-sense) but more often then not they are for sh*t in the mirco-sense of having to give precise tactical JIT information (not that they can't, but more often then not somewhere in the process, the process there is either a fk up or simply Mr. Murphy comes along).
Those believing some larger type conspiracy is shaping the whole "real truth" regarding Saddam's WMDs are chasing ghosts.
With regard to the American public - I find your perception also off slightly - In that you are believing the MSM false premise that the majority of American's don't believe in the war in Iraq, or don't believe in GWB as a leader - Neither are true. At all. Silly biased polls are meaningless.
We had one REAL poll last Nov. where the issue of National Security and leadership were the two most important factors (bar none). GWB won and so did the GOP in the House and Senate! That is the reality of where the American public stands. Not silly MSM polls.
We are in complete agreement about the WH and RNC not responding enough over the past 2 years. Not setting the premise correct regarding the GWOT & Iraq - Not telling of our successes enough, etc, etc.

Yes, the threat from Saddam was real and eminent. Most Americans knew it even if the UN weapons inspectors didn't.

Unlikely the bills of sale will surface in the near future, if at all. That kind of stuff is closely guarded.
And the receipts from Iraq were likely in that 40% or so of the documents turned over to the UN in 2002 that (ahem) our state department confiscated as being too sensitive for other folks to view. All that seems to have come out is the illegal trade with France and Russia, but everyone already knew about that anyway.
