Liberal Love-In on Fox & Friends: "Disenfranchised" French Yoots; Rove Should "Recuse" Himself
Fox & Friends Weekend | governsleastgovernsbest

Posted on 11/13/2005 4:25:54 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Just when you thought Fox & Friends Weekend couldn't get any worse . . .

I thought it was bad enough when Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick were providing some kind of balance to Julian Phillips blatherings.

It's a sign of just how bad things have gotten, with Juliet and Mike now gone, that Phillips has become something of the voice of reason!

Kiran Chetry and Page Hopkins are sitting in this morning with Phillips, and the trio tried to outdo each other in their PC comments on the French riots.

While the women wrung their hands about how the French yoots have been "disenfranchised," Phillips talked about how the underclasses have historically been mistreated in France "going back to the time of the French revolution!

If there was anything in their discussion about the rioters being Muslims, egged on by radical imams, I missed it.

Then it was on to a discussion of the GOP's fortunes. The screen was filled with shots of Rove and Condi and I am not 100% certain who made the comment, but it seemed that it was Page Hopkins who suggested that since Karl Rove has become such a "lightning rod," it might be a good idea for him to "recuse himself.

"Recuse himself? That is something a judge does when he has a conflict of interest. I'm assuming that Page was suggesting that Rove either resign or take a leave of absence, but who really knows?

Here's where Julian played the voice of reason [!], saying he wasn't sure Rove's 'recusal' was the answer.

What a mess of a show. Has the time has come for Fox News to scrap the weekend edition and start again from scratch?

I really like the FOX News channel, but I have to take a pass on Fox & Friends. That show just sucks. I would rather sit in silence than have those people blathering on. Strangely, the weekend edition seems to be worse than the weekday one.

I cut off F&F Weekend this morning and have watched it for the last time. If I wanted to watch uninformed liberals performing for the cameras, I'd be a Katie Couric "Today Show" fan. This morning's pity party for the poor Muslim rioters was simply the last straw. We bought Dish several years ago to get a more balanced media outlet. This morning's show, plus promos for Fox's global warming special tonight, makes me question if it's worth what we're spending to get Fox. If the goal of Ailes is just to be another liberal msm channel, we may just drop Fox and Dish in '06.

I'm not sure Fox news hasn't been drifting to the dark side for some time now. I think they are falling under the celebrity, beltway type of spell Rush is always talking about.

I'd say that's indisputable. Brian Kilmeade is solid and the others are bearable. The weekend show is down to liberal Julian Phillips accompanied by a rotating cast of others.

Surprised about Page Hopkins. My read on her is that she is a true conservative.

Phillips is an idiot.

If we want to listen to that drivel, we can watch dozens of OTHER channels. Maybe an email or ten to friends@foxnews.com.....

Just as I put the TV on, that's what they were discussing. My foggy ,no caffeine yet brain registered Lib "Buzz" words. Not a good way to start the morning! ;-)

It's from being in NYC. That's a mistake.

They should be based in Dallas, Houston, or somewhere with less concentration of liberals --- the attitudes of neighbors and friends and even the union grip and camera man slowly invade the show.

I first started watching the show when it was Juliet, Brian, Steve & Mike Jerrick.

I've never been impressed with Julian.

Surprised about Page Hopkins. My read on her is that she is a true conservative.

Although the camera wasn't on the hosts when one of them suggested Rove "recuse" himself, when the cameras came back on the panel there is no doubt it was Page who suggested that Rove consider doing so.
