South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will use their vehicle of Comedy Central's 'South Park' to spoof Tom Cruise and Scientology in Wednesday night's episode. The episode is titled "Trapped in the Closet."
A tease on Comedy Central's website has a reporter standing outside a house in South Park, "A lot of people here are hoping Tom Cruise will just come out - we're still not exactly sure why Tom Cruise is in the closet
"

I just can't wait for this one : )
That otta be a good one! Of course Tommy boy likes to sue everyone who thinks he's gay. He's such a nutless wonder!
I've never watched that show, but I could be tempted to watch this particular episode.
I can't wait either!!! I have popcorn ready to be nuked for tonight's show. It will be a good one!!!
Intelligence and acting ability are often inversely proportionate.
I hesitated to post this, but figured SP fans would want a heads up.
It should be good.
South Park is one of the best weapons we've got in the culture war. In a society in which PC runs amok, they flat out don't care.
Ping...
Thanks for the head's up. I can't wait for the lawsuits.
My wife can't stand him and is sure he's gay. I never really picked up onm that but I may be wrong. Now, when he went on Rosie's show once and she fawned all over him, I knew she was full of it. Usually my "gay-dar" is pretty good.
Oh yeah. Salman Rushdie went underground 20 years to avoid the wrath of zealots. And those were just Muslims.
This has the potential of an all-time great episode. Such easy pickin's with Cruise and the whack-jobs!
Ah - thanks. As Johnny would say "I did not know that."
plenty to offend "conservatives" on SP as well, it must be mentioned
:~D
Even better is the fact that it's "radical." Teens love to be "radical." It's a shame they have to learn their Aesop's Fables from a show like South Park, but if it gets the job done, I'm all for it. It's better than nothing.
As an adult, I think it's hilarious, although it does state in it's disclaimer it "shouldn't be viewed by anyone".
I think SP aspires to the old Monty Python credo of trying to offend everyone more or less equally.
I just havta ask...isn't Isaac Hayes (the voice of Chef) a scientologist himself? For some reason, I think he is...could make it all the more interesting tonight if he is.
I remember when the "Spirit of Christmas" tape was floating around when I was in college in 1996 or so. I've been a fan of the show since it started. I hope the show stays on for years to come.
They ripped on him big time in Team America.
I just havta ask...isn't Isaac Hayes (the voice of Chef) a scientologist himself?Yep.
If they really want to stir some modell, they should have some corrolary to the religion being founded as part of a bet.

Matt Damon
South park is an equal-opportunity offender -- if you're in the public eye, you're a target.
The big difference is that conservatives are far more likely to be able to laugh at themselves than liberals are.
I couldn't believe the lesbian cheerleader reference last week. The episode aired like a day after the NFL cheerleader thing broke. I wonder how they get stuff like that in so fast?
< The more time and effort I invest, the more I receive. >
I like this quote from your link for Isaac Hayes. Notice how he leaves out "money". Time and effort, yes. Money, no.
I found this:
Comedy Central spokesman Tony Fox explained that he didnt know any details of the show because, these guys literally write and rewrite the episode almost right up to the moment it airs.
yes, I believe Galdolph Fitch (chef) is a scientologist. (lets see who knows Gandolph Fitch is)
i agree on both points, and I am a big fan of the show, but I can imagine people here on FR seeing an endorsement of this show as being a friend to "our" side of things, and then having their eyes fall out of their heads if they actually watch the wrong episode
SPEAKING of Chef, where has he been?
I don't think his character has even been on the show this season.
With essentially "Flash" animation, they don't have to have the lead-time necessary to get animation cells inked.
They record the audio Tuesday night and the finished show usually doesn't even reach the broadcast studio til Wednesday (the day it airs) afternoon.
I read a really interesting article on the whole process in some pro-audio magazine.

Tom: "I'm an actor! You will respect my religion!!!"
Galdolph Fitch
Rockford Files, called Jim Garner Rockfish...
What do I win???
On the "Ginger Kids" episode? I can't believe I missed that! Where was it?
Mark
Who, the cheerleaders?

No! You will respect mah authoritah!
Mr. Garrison makes a brief remark about lesbian cheerleaders to the class. I assume they were referring to the news story from the day before.
Talk about yer gay cowboys eating pudding, eh?
BTTT
They ripped on him big time in Team America.Supposedly he got a kick out of it. George Clooney said he would have been upset if they hadn't busted on him.

I think SP aspires to the old Monty Python credo of trying to offend everyone more or less equally. They try to, but the best of their humor is reserved for the Dims. The whining about them in the DUmp is pretty incessant.

Lol! Well if he's not gay, he should be! It's obvious he hasn't had much luck with women! I pity the poor girl he's with now, who claims she's so "ecstatic" about her "man"!
Just wait a couple of years - she's in for a rude awakening!
He makes my skin crawl.

On the "Ginger Kids" episode? I can't believe I missed that! Where was it?

There was a AP or UPI report that redhead population was on the decrease. This is due that the redhead gene is recessive and that the genes are essentially being bred out of existence.
The clams will have the lawsuit filed before 5EST.
Thanks for the ping, HOTD! :)
