Rep Weldon is on Michael Savage now. He is circulating a letter for signatures requesting public hearings on Able Danger. He says he has over 200 signatures. Maybe we can find out what the truth is.
Who does he want to sign the petition? What can we do to help?
BTTT!!
This story is buried. It's apparent that Clinton rump swabs want this story gone. It's also apparent that the Bush administration is crushing this story as well.
It must be that there were intelligence files with Atta and other hijackers that everyone ignored.
Weldon and the officers who are trying to get the truth out are up against a wall much bigger than the Gorelick wall.
The 911 commission was just an agreement between the two sides to tell some story and cover up the big story.
I'll go grab my radio and listen. Savage is a little too over the top nuts for me, but I like that he's not PC :-)
And I love listening to Weldon. I'll contact my reps and encourage them to sign the petition. Thanks for the heads up.
Savage is best when he has a guest on. It appears that he does have manners.
Savage has an accurate view of the 'big picture' and his weakness is his inability to appreciate the political power of Christianity.
Weldon is saying the public need to write their Senators and Representatives and demand an investigation into the cover up of Able Danger.
I just read that Weldon is on the same list as those REpublicans (RINOs) who receive money from George Soros....does anyone know if that is true? It's Mainstreet Republicans or something like that
ROFL on your tag line! :)
awwww Weldon didn't come back in 2nd hour. :(
Who are the signers? is there a published list?
It's absolutely true. The list of Main street pubs was posted at FR sometime last week and Weldon as on it.
Don't think Ill be signing anything...why doesn't Savage ask him about his affiliation with Soros???
Interesting, that after all the Hype Hannity has given this story, he did not ask ONE question of Sec Rumsfeld during his interview.
NOT ONE. Someone does want this dead.
Savage probably doesn't know. I've found that from time to time every one of these talk show hosts can be unaware of some very important stuff. Guess eveybody can't know everything.
This story, unfortunately, is going to be swept under the rug. It will go the way of the Flight 800 story or the mystery man in the Oklahoma City bombing story.
Actually I believe something different.
I believe that they know post-911 Able Danger 'data mining' open source info was a success.
They figured that out before even then 911 hearings.
And it was put back into use, and has been key in preventing terror in the US in the years since 911. BUT even though it is 'technically' leagal the powers that be know its a dirty story. Something the media can harp on and create all kinds of conspiraices about.
Legal or not, they would damage it, seek to control it, oversee, regulate... RUIN it. And looking at all the BS with delay, and rove, and libby and katrina, and they aren't filled with confidence that even 'legal' massive open source data mining wouldn't hold up.
They want to keep using it... and to avoid the debate they must cover it up on all sides at all costs.
I think that is the name -- Mainstream Republicans. I hadn't heard that Weldon was in it though. Disgusting that Republicans would be part of a Soros funded group.
Congressmen. Call your Congressman on the phone tommorrow and tell him or her (via the staff) to sign Cong. Weldon's letter to Rumsfeld demanding open hearings. He has 202 signatures. If he gets 16 more, that is half the Congress.
Get the phone number here:
http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/
Just click on your state on the US map.
All phone #s, fax #s of all Senators and Congressmen in US
When you call, be polite and nice (don't be angry at the person). The person who answers will not be a customer service professional, just a Congressional staffer.
This seems to be a coverup from both administrations.

All that evidence was destroyed.
It's possible that all of the evidence was not destroyed-according to Rep. Weldon in the last few weeks.
I think Weldon is just trying to drum up business for his daughter's public relations firm. Weldon is a RINO just like his idol Specter.
I don't think that Weldon is just a RINO. 9-11 is personal for him as he has previously been a firefighter and he's lost friends in the 9-11 attacks.
Oh yes. He was the brilliant fireman from Marcus Hook. Hell, he was mayor of Marcus Hook.
Here are better instructions:
http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/
Just type in your Zip Code in the box provided and press ENTER (no need to type in your address or even adjust the state)
You will be automatically provided with the names, phone numbers, and fax numbers of the two Senators and one House member who represent you. (There is an email button there but it did not work for me.)
I take offense to that. He is my representative, and he is *no* RINO. Anyone who says otherwise should look at how he has voted over the years before throwing out accusations. Weldon is consistently conservative.
Then you probably know all about his daughter.
Google Weldon. You will find the following:
His daughter Karen may have received special treatment in contract award(s). As discussed in this LA Times article (February 20, 2004), Karen Weldon's firm, Solutions North America Inc., received a $240,000 contract "to promote the good works of a wealthy Serbian family" - Karic - "that had been linked to accused war criminal Slobodan Milosevic". The LA Times article notes that at the time of the award, Karen Weldon was 29 years old, with no relevant portfolio. The article further notes that Rep. Weldon has "gone to bat for" his daughter's firm with at least two other clients, with the three contracts adding up to a value of $1 million. Karen Weldon's business partner in Solutions is Charles P. Sexton Jr., 67, the former campaign finance chairman for Rep. Weldon, and current chair of the Springfield (DelCo) GOP.
Weldon about to come on the Savage Nation, you can stream online at http://www.kfab.com/kfabschedule.html
I'll get the mp3 of the interview and host it online. I'll post the URL later.
Here's the text of the letter to Sec. Rumsfeld. Weldon has more than 180 signatures from members of Congress:
The Honorable Donald Rumsfeld
Secretary
Department of Defense
Pentagon
Washington, DC 20301
Dear Secretary Rumsfeld:
We the undersigned are formally requesting that you allow former participants in the intelligence program known as ABLE DANGER to testify in an open hearing before the United States Congress.
Until this point, congressional efforts to investigate ABLE DANGER have been obstructed by Department of Defense insistence that certain individuals with knowledge of ABLE DANGER be prevented from freely and frankly testifying in an open hearing. We realize that you do not question Congress's authority to maintain effective oversight of executive branch agencies, including your department. It is our understanding that your objection instead derives from concern that classified information could be improperly exposed in an open hearing. We of course would never support any activity that might compromise sensitive information involving national security. However, we firmly believe that testimony from the appropriate individuals in an open hearing on ABLE DANGER would not only fail to jeopardize national security, but would in fact enhance it over the long term. This is due to our abiding belief that America can only better prepare itself against future attacks if it understands the full scope of its past failures to do so.
On September 21, the Senate Committee on the Judiciary conducted a hearing on ABLE DANGER which Bill Dugan, Acting Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Oversight, certified did not reveal any classified information. Congressman Curt Weldon's testimony at that hearing was largely based on the information that has been given to him by ABLE DANGER participants barred from open testimony by DOD. Their testimony would therefore closely mirror that of Congressman Weldon, who did not reveal classified information.
Therefore we are at a loss as to how the testimony of ABLE DANGER participants would jeopardize classified information. Much of what they would present has already been revealed. Further refusal to allow ABLE DANGER participants to testify in an open congressional hearing can only lead us to conclude that the Department of Defense is uncomfortable with the prospect of Members of Congress questioning these individuals about the circumstances surrounding ABLE DANGER.
This would suggest not a concern for national security, but rather an attempt to prevent potentially embarrassing facts from coming to light. Such a consideration would of course be an unacceptable justification for the refusal of a congressional request.
I hope someone will have a transcript of this interview I missed the first part
If true, and I stress *if*, since you put "may have" in the post, it potentially makes him corrupt, not a RINO (and if you know anything about Delaware County politics this shouldn't surprise you in the least). I have yet to see anything that says he is a RINO, and I feel confident in saying that he isn't. I've lived here long enough and seen enough of his votes to say that with complete confidence. The fact that this is an LA Times article makes me take it with a rather large grain of salt, and without hard evidence of corruption I'm not prepared to take it at face value. Weldon has become a real threat to the Left and I've been expecting the libs to try to smear him for some time. He is a very outspoken conservative representative whose district includes part of Philly and the Left must hate him with a passion (especially since his seat is very safe).

I was unaware of this?

thanks sean!!
Thanks for the ping.
well-stated, I think that's it too, unless they just don't want to let too much info on how they work out to the terrorists. the other thought I had was that it could be part of "Daddy's rules" that Bush has abided by since day one, that it violates noblesse oblige to go after the predecessors.. like not talking about the trashing of the WH 1/20/01, not following up the Marc Rich pardon, letting Sandy Burger off easy, etc., etc., etc.
If that were true, they would make Weldon privy to this info, and he would tone it down.
