"New saints are being made everyday. Meanwhile, advanced bookings for hell are way up. "

But it's not big news...Amnesty International level stuff...after all, it's only Christians.

Faith being a private thing is only a very recent P.C. phenomenon. To those who believe, faith is more than country, it is, itself, life or death, literally and eternally.

That is why it is martyrdom not suicide.

Since I am not a Christian, this concept of martyrdom makes no sense to me, but thank you for the info.

There is a significant difference between suicide and dying at the hands of your government. These North Koreans knew they might face death if they were caught. They might also be sentenced to a lengthy time in a labor camp.

In any case, they are Christians, and worship and evangelism is a joyful responsibility in the Christian faith, regardless of circumstance, because Christ is above all rulers nad governments.

God help the people of North Korea.

He will. God always remembers his little ones. One day, one way or the other, North Korean Communism will fall.

....."concept of martyrdom"......

You seem to have the idea that Christians are like the Muslims and want to die for God. I believe I can speak for most Christians and assure you that none of us wants to die for any reason or cause. What we do realize is that we may be called upon to do just that in our lifetimes. If a Christian doesn't think about that, the they need reminding. There are several passages that make it clear that Jesus wants us to stand strong for a witness to Him. There are numerous stories of men that chose death rather than renounce their faith. Christians have a bad enough rep without folding under pressure. What if Billy Graham or the pope renounced Jesus just because someone pulled their fingernails out? How would they witness for Christ after they bought their freedom. The Bible says "Let your yes mean yes and no mean no." We aren't free to lie cheat and steal, just to save our pride, money honor, or life.

Reminds me of a certain president that says everybody lies about adultery. What would you do? Christians aren't supposed to be weasels. You say you aren't a Christian. Does that mean non Christians have no honor and would say or do anything to save their skin? If so we need only Christians in our military to keep them from cutting and running the first sign of trouble. We need more Christians in the banking system, politics, doctors, and such, if thats true. I would hope honesty, honor, and a backbone could be found in more than just fundamentalist, extreme, radical, Christians.

I don't understand why you believe or may even want to be called upon to die. God instilled in me a desire to live, be thankful for, and appreciate the gift of life He gave us. The idea of possibly dying for God, just doesn't make any sense to me.
