Rudy Giuliani Trounces Hillary Clinton in 2008 Presidential Poll

Rudy Giuliani Trounces Hillary Clinton in 2008 Presidential Poll --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By CK Rairden Nov 18, 2005

A nationwide poll conducted by Canisius College shows that if the presidential election were held today and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was the Republican nominee and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was the Democratic nominee it would be no contest.

President Rudy Giuliani?

Rudy Giuliani would trounce Senator Hillary Clinton.

Overall the poll showed the Republican former mayor beating the Democratic senator 54 to 38 percent in the hypothetical battle. The AP reports that Clinton loses among voters in red states, which is no surprise, but Giuliani breaks even in the blue states.

It would be tough for Senator Clinton to take New York State, so an Electoral College poll at this point would likely give similar results.

Neither has declared that they will run in 2008.

Apparently the Bush poll woes do not carry over to Rudy as the Canisius survey shows a high degree of dissatisfaction with the performance of President Bush.

Only 42 percent view President Bush favorably, compared with 55 percent who view him unfavorably.

Rudy would be an outstanding president IF Bush can get one more justice on the Supreme Court. If the Judiciary is doing it's job and living up to it's Constitutional role then the Republican party can afford to allow diversity of opinion on some of these topics, such as abortion, because the people will be in charge of deciding and not 9 justices.

IF we still are in a position of needing a conservative justice on the court, I think we have to hold Rudy to the fire. I think Rudy would be an outstanding president. I don't agree with him 100%, but I don't agree with Bush 100% either. But for Repulicans, the court is the one place where we cannot allow for diversity of thought. It's either in the constitution or its not. And if its not, you have to pass a constitutional amendment to put it in there. Period.

So let's hope Bush can get one more and then.... Run Rudy Run!

I'm skeptical of these polls. Depends on what the sample is. Still, it doesn't hurt Giuliani any.

My opinion exactly.

We are in a world war, probably the last world war. Rudy will not ask for (or at least he won't get...) my guns...but I do believe he will truly lead us in this war. He isn't perfect, but we don't need perfection.

We need leadership...and Rudy is nothing if not a leader. Unless another leader emerges to over-shadow him, Rudy is da man! He has been tested by fire. He was on the scene when this country was attack. He saw first-hand. He will not forget.

He turned down a contribution from a Wahabbi supporter...he tossed Arafat out of Lincoln Center.

Rudy has earned his spurs.

As far as I know he is for strict enforcement of the laws of the US. If it's a law, we need to enforce it. If we don't want the law enforced, then repeal the law. Period.

I believe that's his two cents.

I would agree with that. McCain to me is not a bad man. I don't hate him. But he's like the liberal grandpa who wants everyone to get along and no matter how outrageous someone on the left gets with their statements, he will just smile and tell you how he can see how or why they would say that...blah blah blah.

He's on our side whn it comes to the WOT, but I wouldn't support in for CIC.

Giuliani is less conservative then McCain on almost every single issue.

Because of Giuliani's views on homosexuality and other social issues, he will never make it passed the primaries. The conservative base will tell him to pack his bags. He has NO chance of ever becoming President.

Haven't you heard? You're supposed to stand up for a principled conservative, even if they'd lose, and Hildabeast would be elected. After all, it's better to stand up for your beliefs than compromise elect someone you agree with 80-90% of the time...(sarcasm??)

Right you are. We must protect America...and we must protect the real homeland, Israel. We need leaders who are not disillusioned by oil. If we run out of oil, we must take what we need and leave some cash on the counter.

Saudi Arabia funds the Wahabbis...and the Wahabbis kill Americans and Israelis.

Time to get serious.

Forgive me for being too hardline...I believe we must follow our consciences and our hearts.

Not every muslim is bad...but islam is evil. There will be no peace on this planet until islam is killed.

Islam is evil...we must kill it.

If you put it that way, sure.

But that's all emotion. Not logic.

The truth of the matter is McCain is right on the issues more often then Giuliani.

McCain probably isn't tempermentally suited to be president. Frankly, I'm not sure about Giuliani either.

But I know one thing for sure, Hillary DEFINATELY isn't, and she's wrong on ALL the issues.

"He has NO chance of ever becoming President. "

He could win as a Dem, they may be desperate enough to force a moderate liberal upon their base.
The media would pretty much guarantee his success.

Of course this is just wild speculation at this point.

If Hillary runs, it will only be another front to fight. And if the noise from the democrats and the MSP are any indication, the terrorists are amateurs compared to the liberal politicians and the liberal press because liberals are far more desparate for power since they can't achieve their hidden agenda at either the ballot box or the SCOTUS. Rush is right...they are imploding!

Hillary couldn`t crack 45% against a local dog catcher.

She knows it and she ain`t going to run.

The only way Hillary could ever become president is if she got elected Gov. of New York and made a good showing, and then made a run for the Presidency. But that ain`t happening either.

The MSM is just dreaming with a Hillary candidacy.

I'm with you. My point was simply that I think we can have different view points in the party IF, IF I say, we have a court that believes social policy should be decided by the people and not by the whims of nine men or women wearing dresses.

I'd vote for Giuliani under most circumstances because his views on abortion would be moot with the overturn of Roe and on the WOT he is personally enraged enough to continue to fight regardless of the feeble attempts of the media and the dems to minimalize the dangers.
