OUTRAGE--Special Sneakers to Ease Sneaking Over the Border: New York designer Judy Werthein is giving away, free, a special set of sneakers to illegal aliens before they cross into the U.S.--TO MAKE THEIR ILLEGAL ENTRY EASIER!
Official Sneaker of Illegal Aliens and the Idiot Liberals who Love Them I can't portray the outrage and absurdity better than the AP article did, so I post the key excerpts below, with some of my questions/comments in bold CAPS:
"SAN DIEGO--The high-top sneakers [called "Brincos"] cost $215 at a San Diego boutique, but the designer is giving them away to migrants before they cross to this side of the U.S.-Mexico border.
These are no ordinary shoes. A compass and flashlight dangle from one shoelace. The pocket in the tongue is for money or pain relievers. A rough map of the border region is printed on a removable insole. [DS: HOW CUTE!]

Benefactors put up $40,000 for the project; Werthein gets a $5,000 stipend, plus expenses. [DS: WHO ARE THESE BENEFACTORS? ARREST THEM, TOO. ARE THEY GETTING TAX DEDUCTIONS FOR THIS? BET THEY ARE.]
Across the border, several curious migrants waiting for sunset along a cement river basin approached Werthein as she took white shoe boxes out of a sport utility vehicle. One man already wore a dirty pair of Brincos. Another, Felipe de Jesus Olivar Canto, slipped into a size 11 and said he would use them instead of his black leather shoes.
"These are much more comfortable for hiking," said Olivar Canto. He said he was heading for $6.75-an-hour work installing doors and windows in Santa Ana, about 90 miles north of border. "The ones I have are more dressy." [DS: WOULDN'T WANT TO DIRTY THOSE DRESS SHOES WHEN YOU'RE DOING THE ILLEGAL CHA CHA INTO THE STATES, WOULD WE? NEED THEM CLEAN AND SPOTLESS FOR THE BENEFITS OFFICE.]
From there, Werthein went to Casa del Migrante, a Tijuana shelter that will receive a share of the proceeds from Brincos sold in the United States.
"Does it have a sensor to alert us to the Border Patrol?" joked Javier Lopez, 33, who said he had a $10-an-hour job hanging drywall waiting for him in Denver. [DS: HA-HA, FUNNY. CAN'T SAY I BLAME THEM FOR LAUGHING AT US. IN OTHER COUNTRIES, MS. WERTHEIN WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN BEHEADED, OR IN JAIL AT THE VERY LEAST.]
To research the best design over two years, Werthein interviewed shoe designers, migrants, aid workers, even an immigrant smuggler. She joined the Mexican government's Grupo Beta migrant-aid society on long border hikes. She heard from a Salvadoran woman in Tijuana who said she was kidnapped and raped by her smuggler. [DS: ALL THAT RESEARCH AND NO RAPE KIT. DAMN, NO LIST OF IMMIGRATION LAWYERS AND BUSINESS CARD FROM THE SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER EITHER. WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?]
Based on those interviews, she added a pocket--migrants told her they were often robbed. She also added the flashlight--many cross at night.
Some get lost--hence, the compass and map.
"If you get lost," she told the men at the shelter, "just go north."

The penalty for treason is death. She should be tried, convicted and then sentenced to be beaten to death with a pair of her own sneakers.

The most ironic thing about this whole mess is that the sneakers are MADE IN CHINA for $17 a pair.
This gormless twit could have sent her business south of the border if she was serious about helping the people of Mexico.
BTW, she's from Argentina. I think it is time for her to take a long walk back across the border, wearing a pair of her own sneakers. The compass should come in handy.

Why don't they REALLY do something for the poor Mexicans like investing in Mexico, starting charities to build homes and schools, daycare for the poor in Mexico, and most importantly creating JOBS in Mexico.

Well, if the intended beneficiaries are smart they can use 'em once, then put em up on Ebay. I'm sure the Birckenstock crowd would be especially proud to wear them used.
Hokay, I checked Ebay. So far the only "Brincos" they have are recordings from this spanish garage band from the 60's.
I'm sure I won't have to wait long, however. Madame designer will no doubt profit from the politically correct publicity.
What is really comes to, is easy labor at $1.00 an hour.
