Last week I was called by the RNC for a donation/membership renewal. I gave the lady an ear full and told her that I do not plan on donating for not getting the work done that they have promised for years- immigration, reduced government spending, line item veto, etc. I told her ILLEGAL immigration costs me extensive tax dollars already in health & car insurances, food subsidies, property taxes for their education they don't take advantage of, etc. Well, after three minutes she told me she "had to go" as I guess her call quota would show too low!! Tightening the money reins will make them listen to US!

....and then they crawl out of their camps and start calling us racists for wanting to protect our tax money instead of turning it over to illegals... These people don't know how many illegal pregnant ladies sit in hospital parking lots in AZ, waiting to deliver just so they can have citizen spawns. Just to whom I want to give my hard-earned tax dollars.

I was at the OBGYN a few months ago and the receptionist was trying to get a patient in to see another OBGYN at a different office who spoke Spanish. The woman was brand new to the country from Mexico and was 36 weeks pregnant. I don't care if it was Mexico or the Mid-East. Why are women coming in when they are that far along?

Ping for later. This reform sounds like it's way overdue.

The premise of this article, that only a constitutional amendment can solve the "anchor baby" problem, is false. Like all other amendments since the Bill of Rights, the 14th allows Congress to "enforce the amendment with legislation." Congress has the power to define a birth as "not on American soil," as it has with the territory of the embassies and consulates of hundreds of nations.

We need to take care of this problem pronto. Would also have alot less women here without jobs but American babies and our tax dollars supporting them all. I work in the Hispanic community and see it all...it's not the children's fault so I help them as much as possible to make a better life for themselves. The parents try to use me but I'm smarter than that. This is my first time to actually want to do anything against the mothers but this mess must stop.

They sit in the parking lots and wait until their water breaks here in AZ. Tons and tons of them are crossing over with the smugglers. Yeah, it's "only people coming here to work" - BALONEY. I think the statistic for able-bodied men breaking into our country is something like 50% but I'd have to double-check that.

It's not anti-Mexican. I don't care whether illegal aliens come from Mexico or Ireland. It's not about that.

What angers many people is the fact that there are pregnant women who sneak over the border to have their children born here. It is a fact. Speaking the truth does not equate to being anti-Mexican.

This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons."

I just don't get how this seems to have been forgotten, or else shoved under the carpet, by virtually ALL of our politicians!

Good. Too many people from Mexico have exploited that and come over and had children in this country just so they could stick around. End it. Send 'em home.

The Constitution says what it says. We must not become like the liberals, who treat the Constitution as a "living document", that is, whatever those in power say it means. I am supportive of an amendment to the Constitution that would put an end to the abuse of the 14th Amendment provision that declares all persons born in the United States as citizens. Just because the liberals make up the rules as they go along does not mean conservatives should.

"Why are women coming in when they are that far along?"

This was a rhetorical question right?

LOL. Yes, it was rhetorical. I know WHY they are doing it. The better question would be how can it be stopped?

They sit in the parking lots and wait until their water breaks here in AZ.

That's wrong on so many levels. Not only are they getting citizenship for their anchor babies, but they are also driving up health care costs. Even a normal L&D with no complications costs a few thousand dollars- and that is for women who had good healthcare throughout their pregnancies and took care of themselves.

So long as illegals are getting gov't assistance of any kind, they are subject to the jurisdiction.

So if an illegal goes to a Mexican Counsulate and gets a Matricula Consular for ID in the US, he is still subject to the jurisdiction of Mexico, right?
