Although there is not doubt that the enemy is utilizing and manipulating the media I wouldn't go so far as to say they are outsmarting the armed forces. Outsmarting the media and the left? Oh yeah. Outsmarting the armed forces. Nope.
And, how ignorant is it for a major news outlet to assert such? Idiots.

Note to dial-up users, link is to a streaming video,
unusable out here in the stix. Someone who can view
it might want to summarize.
No doubt CBS will find a way to blame Bush in this,
and continue their open support of the Cutthroat Cult.

I don't know about Clinton, but shortly after 911, it was a Pubbie Senator who went on TV and was bragging about our military tracking bin Laden's cellphone. Shortly thereafter, bin Laden's terrorist quit using cellphones all together. IIRC, it was Orin Hatch who ran to the microphone first to let the world know we were tracking bin Laden by cellphone.

They came chasing after trouble
And their trouble's have just began
So the sun will soon be setting
For the Taliban in Afghanistan.
While their mouths talked of friendship
While they harbored therroris
Al-Queda and bin Ladan
September eleventh two thousand and one
Our land of freedom was defied
September eleventh two thousand and one
Uncle Sam replied.
We did it before and we can do it again
And we are doing it again
We've got a heck of a job to do
But you can bet we'll see it thru...

The MSM has been glorifying and romanticizing terrorists for decades. They don't differentiate between jihadists who blow up innocent civilians and suburban kids who throw rocks through windows at anti-globalization rallies. They like anyone, ANYONE who has a gripe with America. It doesn't cross their minds that they're aiding and abetting the enemy because the only enemy that they see is Republicans, the religious right, corporate America, etc.

The video just shows a CBS reporter in Baghdad saying that, when the military used to take reporters out and show them how they were dealing with roadside bombs, the insurgents would find out about it on the internet and adapt.
Oh, and 90 soldiers have been killed in the past 4 weeks, which is more than usual. Roadside bombs are the reason.
To: jmc1969
The terrorists read American newspapers, watch American news on tv and know exactly how to manipulate our US liberal media.

Yes, the military absolutely must change its ways and give the Iraqis control of patrolling their roads in humvees, that is the only way to stop this crap.

Thanks for the report.
I suppose some Conventions prohibit strapping journalists
to the hoods of military vehicles. Might discourage some
of these attacks if the perps knew they'd be losing a key
propaganda and intel pal.
To: sit-rep
You're right---but they did put that statement in the description of the video.
Ditto on the smacking sentiment!

I guess they thought they'd better admit the obvious, head off a possible backlash because they've been getting our troops killed.
Now if someone could only get the rest of the media and the dems to see that (like the little slogan on our posting page says) LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS! :(

The media and Hollywood glorified the notion of grunts who fragged officers they preceived unnecessarily endangered their lives.
Reporters are going to take a few casulties if they convince the troops Iraq is a Vietnam rerun.

What they are saying at the Communist Broadcast System, is that because the reporters are reporting what is working and what isn't, for the terrorists, the commanders have stopped letting journalists go along on search and destroy missions. In other words, the reporters are getting our soldiers killed!

Ignore that bit about the press being a bunch of traitors. The spin fromt this article is that the U.S. armed forces are dumb and the jihadis are smart.

How the Media Helps Insurgents... The only thing missing is Walter Cronkite to tell us how bad we're losing even when it's not accurate. There used to be a time when the media would keep such information to themselves if they ever thought it would help the enemy.

Well, my take on it is that our military command has finally decided the dopes are too stupid to police themselves, so, "we'll do it for you".
I am certain the hubbub this weekend had much to do with it. Up to this point, they'd take most any 'good PR' (and I use that term loosely) they could get.

Is this by
Communist Broadcast System, the
Clinton Broadcast System, or
what?
Seems that Hanoi Jane should be reporting this on a show by CBS -- it would make more sense.
And Congressman Murta (D-PA) is helping the insurgents with his talk on Capital Hill. Maybe the marines should let him know that this is not Semper Fi -- to aid the enemy.
Seems there should be a Freep campaign against the Congressman...
