SAN QUENTIN, Calif. - The Rev. Jesse Jackson and celebrity activist Bianca Jagger were set to visit death row inmate Stanley Tookie Williams on Monday, according to the inmate's spokeswoman.
Jackson and Jagger, a former model once married to rock legend Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, will visit Williams before holding a news conference outside the gates of San Quentin State Prison, Barbara Becnel said.
Williams' execution is set for Dec. 13. He was convicted in 1979 of killing four people during two Los Angeles robberies. While on death row, he's received international acclaim for an array of peace efforts, including his children's books warning kids to stay away from gangs.
Williams has asked Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for clemency, which the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office opposes.

Tookie is still a member of the Cripts, still is believed to be direction part of the gang from prison.
Tookie has not rejected the Cripts, but if he claimed to be a changed man, let him die like a man for all those innocents he has become responsible for killing.
Let him as forgiveness from Jesus, he needs to be a man and take his punishment as a good example for the children who would think of joining gangs.
I doubt Arnold will stay the execution. If he does, his transformation to a liberal Democrat by Maria will be complete.

I am not a big fan of the Death Penalty. But I get more upset over some cases than others. This is not one of those.

The Tookie supporters say their man should be kept alive because he's a good role model for keeping kids out of gangs. They just want his sentence commuted to life in prison. But Tookie says he's completely innocent of the murder charges against him. So, if they believed him, his supporters would be pushing for a complete pardon and immediate freedom for an innocent man. Since they're not doing that, what they're really saying is, Tookie's a liar as well as a murderer, but we still think he should get clemency because he's a great role model for our kids.

Waste (execute) the dude. He's a murderer who has been sucking down air for 20 years too long. Where is the justice for the ones he killed? Forgotten.
It is ironic that it seems to be the folks who are sentenced to death that work the hardest at finding redemption.. It shows that the death penalty works and should be used more often.

These death penalty cases are taking WAY, *WAY* too damned long.

Tookie (when he was 26 years old) and a "friend" robbed a Seven-11 convenience store. While the till was being robbed of $60.00 Tookie ordered the 25 year old night clerk into the cold room. The kid was heard begging for his life. Tookie shot him twice with a 12 gauge shotgun.
Two days later Tookie and a "friend" broke into a family run motel with the intent to rob. They forced their way into the family quarters and pumped two 12 gauge shots into the 53 year old woman ... in the base of her spine and the torso. He shot the father twice in the chest and the daughter once in the head.
His fellow Crips testified against him. 25 years of appeals have not gotten him another trial.
Tookie now denies he was there.
He writes children's books. Who cares?
Furthermore Tookie has been in countless tangles with prison guards over the years. The last I know of was 1993.
I heard a recording this afternnon wherein Tookie was asked if he wanted to die. He said he does not want to die.
