MSNBC's talk show host Chris Matthews is a man who obviously: (1) Believes he is the smartest person on television; (2) Enjoys bullying women such as Michelle Malkin on the air; (3) Enjoys bullying senior citizens who may not be as quick with the mouth as he is; (4) Is irrelevent except for a few of his fellow moonbats who actually believe he's a mental giant; (5) Is of the opinion that he's really competition for Fox News Channel's lineup.
During a speech he gave in Canada at the University of Toronto, Matthews did what most American liberals do when in a foreign country -- he denigrated his own country. During his usual bloviating Matthews is quoted as saying, "America's enemy in the war on terror is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."
As a result of the Chris Matthews pseudo-intellectual speech, radio talk show host Bob Newman invited him to appear on KOA's "The Gunny Bob Show," aired in Phoenix.

I agree with Matthews that the terrorists are a subset of our enemy. I don't understand what the fuss over that is. (I did not hear the interview, but the article is mostly a bunch of name-calling, i.e., "hothead".)

I have not watched Chris Matthews in a couple of years but did stumble into his show one night recently while flipping the channels. I couldn't believe how rabid this guy has become toward Bush and the right. In all seriousness, I believe the guy is certifiable.

Factually, that's true. But our enemy is much closer to being monolithic. I also believe that muslim support for the terrorists, while in many cases is not explicit, is very much existant in an implicit way.
Our military is a subset of our country. But I support them 100%, explicitly. :)

Why MSNBC keeps this loon on I never know considering his ratings. Anyone of us here without broadcast experience on the Freep could do a better program at a fraction of his salary.

I heard the interview as well as the replay and Chrissy got frustrated with Gunny that Gunny didn't get it that we should understand the enemy and kill the terrorists. Good interview.
Yes, terrorists are our enemy. Saying they are a subset of our enemy means that they are not the entire enemy. It means that the enemy is more than just the terrorists. I agree with that. I think the enemy also includes those who encourage and finance the terrorists.

A decent PR operation out of the White House could have knocked down a lot of the garbage from the left.

Matthews is one of the most partisan idiots on TV. From the moment Bush/Cheney set foot in office, Matthews was on the attack. Up until the Iraq war, the Enron story was his biggest beef...long after everyone had forgot about it. In fact, even after 9/11, he still wanted to know when someone within the administration was going to be held accountable for that.
I even think that it was on his show that he had Katrina Vandenho claiming that Bush and Ken Lay had such a special relationship that he allowed Lay to buy the name of the stadium on which Bush's baseball team played...ala "Enron" Field. Besides the fact that it hadn't been Bush's team in a long time, the *itch didn't even realize that Enron Field was the home of the Astros and not the Rangers.

I would also agree that different perspectives alone does not determine what is evil. Evil can be judged by actions and intentions. IMHO.
