Two Senior Jihad Leaders Give Up
Arutz Sheva ^ | 11-24-05 | Hillel Fendel

Posted on 11/24/2005 6:00:04 AM PST by SJackson

The IDF was beginning to raze a house in Jenin last night when the two terrorists inside decided to choose life rather than martyrdom, and gave themselves up.

One of them, Iyad Abu A-Roub, was responsible for a series of murderous attacks against Israelis, including last month's bombing in Hadera (six killed), the Stage Club attack in Tel Aviv in February (five dead), and the suicide bombing in Netanya outside the HaSharon Mall this summer (five killed).

The siege on the house in central Jenin in which A-Roub hid out lasted almost a full day. The terrorists fired at the soldiers, and when bulldozers began razing the building, they surrendered. Inside the house were found weapons and night-vision equipment. Three soldiers were lightly injured in the exchange of fire, and the PA reported that 11 Arabs were wounded.

Just ten days ago, the top Hamas terrorist in Shechem reacted differently; when an Israeli force neared his home, he burst out of the building, shooting wildly with his Kalachnikov, and the soldiers returned fire and killed him.

In another incident, two weeks ago in Jenin, an IDF force surrounded a building in which a wanted terrorist was hiding, called upon him repeatedly to surrender, and then bulldozed the building atop him.

A-Roub was the head of the military wing in Jenin. Together with him in both planning attacks and the surrender was his deputy, Firas Abu A-Roub, who was also wanted by Israel.

The IDF operation in Jenin began on Wednesday morning, when forces entered the Palestinian Authority-controlled city in search of several wanted terrorists. In a similar operation in Shechem last night, the IDF arrested two wanted Islamic Jihad terrorists and another one of Hamas. Three other terrorists were arrested in Bethlehem and Ramallah.

They must have misplaced their explosive vests - aka the "E" ticket to paradise, virgins, martyrdom, yada, yada, blah, blah.

You can always tell who's the leader or logistics guy for terrorists.

He's the one who always lets himself be captured alive.

Here's hoping the b*stards misjudged the Israelis and aren't given back to the muzzies for some promised mirage that the terrorists have no intention of living up to.

I love it when the IDF drops a house on these Jihadist cowards

Interesting tally of his exploits. It is noticable that none of his targets were military targets of either tactical, operational or strategic in nature and non of them presented a risk of counterattack, but all involved the killing of unaware people.

The thinking process of this type of terrorist is better decribed as simply the criminal thinking of a mass murderer than of a warrior dedicated to a cause of warfare. It is also revealed in the conditions which brought a change in his willpower. When the walls of his house began to fall around him, he instinctively surrendered, whereas when he observed a symbol of legitimate authority disagreeable to his thinking, he ran to murder.

This type of thinking is very different than the thinking of a soldier in combat in the act of war who must kill his enemy. This needs to be brought into the understanding of all who fight the war against terror. It isn't as much a war against terror as it is a war against political opportunists who seek to glorify criminal behavior by others to be used as a weapon of force in their attempts to erode legitimate authority.

IMHO, the first targets should be any political leadership that condones in thought or deed, the tactics of 'terror' when communicating to their populous. This will probably include most socialists in western countries.

Excellent. Couldn't be better. Unless of course the two soldiers hadn't been slightly injured, and the bulldozer had flattened and ISM activist in the process.

I make air filters for them.
Just a little piece of completely useless information I throw out to amaze and astound!

I'm sure the bulldozer and helicopter air filters need much more attention in the Mideast. I've heard Iraqi sand described as being like talcum powder, and it sticks to you with any little perspiration

Yeh, when they are telling 15 or 17 year old Achmed to go blow himself up, it a grand and glorious thing, sure to curry favor with Allah and bring those wonderful 72 virgins. But when it's their turn they "choose life". FReeking Cowards, and apostates too, is what they are.

That's never completely true in Israel. It would be even less true in Texas. Lots of civilians out their with guns that they know how to use. Unlike in Texas, or anywhere else in the US where schools are unarmed victim zones, Israeli teachers are likely to be armed as well.

About 3 months before the start of OIF we got flooded with orders for filters for M-1a Abrams..etc. Two line going 24/7 for 3 weeks, that's A LOT for filters.
A kid I work with asked "What does this mean?"
"It means, Saddam better pack his bags, cause George has made a decision".
