I find that there is an "agenda" in EVERY news story these days.
The Dell is a nice computer, but when I called they would not guarantee it for Christmas. Also, I had to pay shipping and handling.
Best Buy got 20 of the new Xboxes-my husband didn't get one. We didn't want one anyway. Someone followed a lady home from Best Buy the first time they went on sale and stole it from her. I hear the store gave her another one and hired more security.
A very rational and good idea. The problem with it is that it is anti-thetical to the real reason for these "Black Friday" deals---which is to pull in a lot of people for these specific deals in the hopes that a significant portion of them will also buy "non-deal" items. The "wristband" idea would mean a smaller total number of people coming into the store(s).
It sounds to me like WM WANTED this to happen.
Perhaps they like the publicity from these stories.
Hey, folks keep coming back every year for this stuff, don't they? People are nuts. I'm glad you got a punch in.
yes, I saw that story in the news about the woman being robbed. A pox on the man who did it. I hope his stolen X box shorts out and burns down his house.
: )
I hope so too. There is another thread that say the store gave her a new xbox. LOL
I'd almost like to see a highlight reel.
I don't go to dollar movies or sales. I don't do well with crowds. I'm afraid my kid would have went without. I do shop at 2 am at Walmarts sometimes though:')
Just remember, this is the same society that elected Bill Clinton--twice. Forgive me if I seem a little cynical regarding some of the idiots who wander aimlessly and thoughtlessly through life.
ROFLMAO!
I think you're right. We were greedy and materialistic as kids, but for me, at least, Christmas had strong spiritual and familial overtones.
Still, I like the idea of giving a major beatdown to a queue jumper; Wal*Mart is just perfect in embodying the modern Christmas spirit.
Well, my hubby works for GM so we must keep Christmas costs down...this is the only thing my son wants. He wanted it last year, but I was ou of work then. I won't go back to Walmart on a Friday again. My husband will go if we ever go again.
I think Walmart does this on purpose.
Well, I'm glad you got it after all your trouble. I like Walmarts but they could do better at crowd control. I hardly go to ours during shopping hours on weekends holidays or tax free days. Many times I've drove up on the parking lot or looking at register lines and turned around and walked out.
I'm wondering too. They could have bracelts for the 1st 50 and put the stuff up and pass it out.
