when i carry a .45, and it's NEVER had a problem... it fit's both my M-59 rigs too.

The Los Angeles Police Department has instructed its officers to stop using Glock 21 pistols because of concerns that the weapons could misfire.
According to Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell, the LAPD's Armory discovered that there may be a mechanical flaw with about two percent of the guns.
Officials with Austria-based Glock Inc. are expected to investigate the matter with the LAPD next week, he said.
The moratorium is being taken as a safety precaution for officers.
The lighter-weight, easier-to-shoot Glocks were approved in August 2003.
About 70 percent of law enforcement agencies across the country use Glocks, a futuristic-looking plastic and metal gun that costs about $500.
Glocks boast a larger magazine capacity, less recoil and a more ergonomic design, making it easier for users to handle compared to the standard-issue Beretta 9 mm.

I wonder where KTLA got some of this information. Can anybody confirm whether or not 70% of our law enforcement agencies carry Glocks. That number sounds too high.
The new Fulton Armory "evil looking" M14/M1A ... very nice (looks like the SOCOM version).
I bet its about a gazillion year wait to get one from them for about a gazillion $$$$.

70% does sound high but Glock clearly dominates the cop market. I think price has a lot to do with it along with simplicity of use.

They have nice trigger pull and fit the hand beautifully. Of course, everyone has different preferences.

No jams.
I held a CZ75 recently and the grip distance from the back of the grip to the trigger was still too far, one quarter of an inch too long for me.
The BHP and 1911 fit perfectly.
The CZ75 is a beautiful piece of machinery. I should get a CZ version just to say I have one.
Probably the biggest reason so many departments chose the Glock is as follows.
The darn things work every time. You load the mag, insert, charge the weapon, pull the trigger, and it goes bang.
I have a G17 and a G26. Both work always. Never had a failure of any sort.
Although I sometimes contemplate upping my caliber to the Glock 30, in 45 acp, or one of those new 45 GAP models,I've never really considered deviating from carrying the Glock.
When a goblin is climbing in your bedroom window at 4 am, that isn't the time to wonder if your pistol on the night stand will go off.
I know, I know, there is a shotgun in my locked closet, but I gotta have time to get to it.
The reason they are having trouble is probably some bastardized New York trigger abomination.
Remember the words of Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard, in the film U.S. Marshals, who opined..."Get yourself a Glock, and get rid of that nickel-plated sissy pistol."

Interesting. It is the Marines who are clamoring for the M-14 now.
I think that the mission concept of the battle rifle has changed a bit since the M-16 was first issued. The idea was that if you shoot one guy, it takes three out of combat - two to rescue the wounded guy. The Muslims don't care if one of their own gets wounded. They just leave him lie.
Our troops don't need a rifle that wounds the enemy. We need one that kills him outright. Leaving the wounded to die doesn't bother these guys one bit. We also need to be able to fire through a closed door, or through a cinder block or brick wall. Furthermore, the M-16 can't handle the fine sand and dust of the middle east, any more than it could handle the mud of vietnam. It is still too finicky of a gun.

Yeah, but the Glock is so d**ned ugly even though they work! I still like style and the Bhp and 1911 has it.!
All of my firearms go Bang except a little Iver Johnson .22. It works if I ONLY use Winchester high dollar .22s in it.
Sounds like a worn firing pin or a weak hammer spring.
Do you realize that right now, as we type, there are liberals pulling out their hair in horror that people are actually talking about LIKING guns? That's nearly as fun as squeezing off a clip or two at something that looks amazingly like Osama Bin Laden.
One reason they are not likely to do so is that they will be harder for the wimmin sojers to handle. I did basic training with the M-14 and loved those easy hits on man sized targets at 400 meters.

Word in the industry is that some Glocks have been shown to fire from nothing more than frame torque.
glock rocks would know about that stuff. I don't.
