President Jacques Chirac said two weeks ago that France must be stricter in enforcing the regulations of a law that allows immigrants to bring spouses and children to France.
Villepin said he would not put that law into question...

I don't believe it. Chirac is just blowing smoke like Bush did yesterday.
Just like the idiocy of the US granting citizenship to anyone born on its soil, the French will grant citizenship upon application to anyone who marries a French citizen regardless of where the marriage takes place. It's nice to see that at least they're going to look at the marriages occurring off of their soil.

I remember seeing a picture from a funeral of a ex-French Prime Minister. On one side of the casket was the weeping wife with their kids. On the other side of the casket was the weeping mistress, with their kids.
