Female Belgian suicide bomber hit Baghdad BRUSSELS, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A woman who carried out a suicide attack in Iraq two weeks ago was identified Tuesday as the first European female suicide bomber.

The Belgian anti-terrorism unit has confirmed that the woman was a Belgian citizen who converted to Islam after her marriage to a Muslim fundamentalist, news service RTL reported Tuesday.

American military forces identified the woman at a combat scene in Baghdad. She was carrying recently issued Belgian identity papers which revealed she had traveled via Turkey. There are no traces of her radical husband who is believed to have organized her trip.

Around 10 percent of all suicide bombings the last 25 years have been carried out by women from the Middle East or Asia. It is, however, a first for a Western woman who has converted to Islam.

This is an illogical statement. Granted that even a five year old blond-headed, blue-eyed kid could be a suicide bomber, what percentage of suicide bombers are Arab males? Wouldn't it be 95+%? Profiling by definition does not claim to catch all miscreants, but to target those most likely to commit the crime. Pointing to a rare exception does not change the rule.

Profile Arab males. Better yet, keep them out of our country altogether.

I realize that's the conventional wisdom among our politicians, the New York Slimes, CAIR, and all the other usual suspects, but I believe otherwise. I believe we MUST exclude Arab males if we want to be safe. If someone wants to dress it up so as not to look so discriminating, I can go along with also excluding Arab females.

Until some other group shows a marked propensity for blowing themselves and others up or cutting peoples' throats, I see not reason to inconvenience anyone else.
