New York -- Jeanine Pirro said Friday she is staying in the race against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, despite pressure from some top Republicans that she abandon her struggling campaign.
"I said from the beginning I am running for the United States Senate. I am a candidate for the United States Senate," Pirro said after emerging from a two-hour meeting with Gov. George Pataki in Manhattan. She said her meeting went well but did not detail the discussion.

Wow! Let me get back from the edge of my seat, here.
Good for her.
Will she get equal time on CSpan as the beast and Pauly?
"New York -- Jeanine Pirro said Friday she is staying in the race against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, despite pressure from some top Republicans that she abandon her struggling campaign. "
There are no Republicans in New York.
Dual whats?
Right about that! They are just a bunch of RINO's... They might as well just put a D next to their names..
Nevermind, I just figured it out.
It's probably just as well if she crashes and burns. She seems to be a real loser.
Also, I doubt if there's another candidate who could realistically come in and challenge hillary at this point. If there were, he or she ought to be able to wipe the floor with Pirro in the primaries. But they've all dropped out.
If she beats Hitlery, it will undermine her 2008 candidacy.
At least she did not acquiesce to the brilliant strategy set forth by Joe Bruno who suggested she quit right in the middle of the race.
How does the Republican Party continually come up with wimpy losers? They seemingly have an unending supply.
Maybe the pubs should let The Hildabeaste run unopposed. Then, to head off her presidential ambitions, make a big deal about her landslide victory and how she now has an unmistakable mandate to serve her NY constituents for all of her term.
'Duel'
Anyhow, we need Republicans with moxy!
Does anyone know what happened to the New York Conservative Party?
Well I guess this means Pirro is now pro life, anti gay "marriage" anti affirmative action and pro second amendment. This must be true otherwise what was the purpose of the meeting? Jeannine is still only hillary with better legs and has not explained how she stayed out of prison after signing the same fraudulent tax returns that her convict husband did.
Mayor John Spencer is a decorated Vietnam Vet, a successful banker, owner of a popular self-help facility, and unapologetically conservative Republican mayor of the state's fourth largest city, Yonkers. He is ACTIVELY seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in 2006.
He WILL mop the floor with Jeanine. Bank on it.
He worked for Banker's Trust...as a property manager.
I'm not very impressed with him, but anyone's a damn sight better than Pataki's pick.
He has my best wishes.
I'm never heard of him, but he sounds pretty good. I'm surprised to learn that Yonkers is the state's fourth largest city. I guess that must be because of its proximity to the down state cesspool.
Things aren't looking good...surrender. I am glad that General Washington didn't do that when at Valley Forge. I don't have a lot of hope for this race, but Pirro is 100% better than KLINTON.
Pirro is an idiot. If she doesn't switch to the AG race, then Hillary will still win, and the loathsome Mark Green could become AG.
LOL at keywords! They totally describe Pirro!
Good for her that she'll lose anyway?
Why are some FReepers supporting her candidacy? The woman is a flat-out joke. She is wasting her time, Republican party backers' time, and the state GOP's time by running against an opponent who's her virtual ideological twin.
From what I read about Spencer, the man is a good choice to run against Clinton. Maybe he won't win (thanks to the New York media), but he'll energize conservatives all across the country. If he's the Republican nominee I'll definetly send him some donations.
If she fights an evil monster like Hillary, then Pirro certainly has a pair! =)
