LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - He has led civil rights marches, scolded the nation's leaders and even run for president, but the Rev. Al Sharpton now wants to do something completely different -- star in his own television sitcom.
Sharpton, in an interview with Reuters on Friday, confirmed a report in Daily Variety that he would soon be filming a pilot for a family show called "Al in the Family" that would revolve around his larger-than-life personality.
"I don't know if I am a good actor or not but I will be playing myself and I have been practicing that for 51 years," the New York Democrat and civil rights leader said.

You really can't make this stuff up. First 'Growing up Gotti' and now this - Brought to you by the MSM/CBS contingent. What a joke - More exaltation of the dysfunctional and pro Dem airtime.

Hollywood loves him. He's a democrat and a racist anti-semite.

His daughter/lover will be named Tawana, and mostly she will sleep in a trash bag with the CBS logo on it.
I believe I could write for that show.

First Katie C. hosting the CBS evening news and now this? PLEASE let it be true!
To: Spok
Yeah. Wonder if they'll have an episode where he incites a crowd to burn down a building and murder the owners.
Despite the fact the H'Wood and MSM crowd loves this thing he is crooked and IMO a murderer - But these are just minor inconveniences not warranting exposure by these people.

Will he play the part of a Buffoon?
Maybe a Harlem version of "The Honeymooners"?
Yeah. Al Sharpton the bus driver. Barney Frank could be his next-door neighbor.

CBS is stuck on stupid if they are going to allow a race baiting, hate spewing ,ignorant slob like that have a TV show. He doesn't say anything that would appeal to the intelligent people in America ( many of us are not fluent in stupidity )and as far as his people/followers go, they have the BET cable channel to talk their bulls**t on. Don't try and force it on decent people. CBS better think about it REAL hard before they make a move like that.

Yeah - I recall that news. I wished I coulda seen Sharpton squirming while our DPS began writing the ticket. Of course, he wasnt behind the wheel - he had a chauffeur taking him to the airport.

Perhaps CBS should look into putting Big Al behind the anchor desk at
CBS Evening News.
He'd be cheaper than Katie Couric. And vastly more entertaining...

Al Sharpton's visit with sheehan and then all the race baiting that went on right after Katrina is what I believe lead to my dream (and maybe something I ate) and my dream lead to my song, "God's Amazing Grace".
If anyone thought I was out there with that, I think this has got even me beat! LOL!!

That's Right!
Except they left out the perfunctory, modern day sitcom, gay component.

He's been a daily living sit-com since he was about 18, I think.

Fat Al is really quite funny. Having seen him in cameos on
Boston Legal, he's a born laugh riot. He's a terrible politician but when it comes to parodying himself, he's right at home. Its the perfect career for Al Sharpton.
