I had to read your comment 3-4 times, and I still can't believe parents would ever buy something like that for their little girl. Talk about setting her up to be knocked down - it gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Where are parents in this brouhaha anyhow? Don't most of these things get into the kids' hands via outright gifts from parents and other adult relatives, rather than purchasing them themselves with self earnings or at the least allowance funds? Don't get Naughty for your kids and then expect them to be Nice.
The Sims rules. I have all the extension packs. I have such a ball creating all of the houses and what not. I was devastated when THE SIMS: SIMSVILLE wasn't being released. Pure devastation.
