25% of registered voters. That would be Chavez and his mother?

This is it, folks. It's young Castro, only with unlimited oil revenues instead of the Soviet Union. Chavez is going to be big trouble for the U.S., and has the resources to back it up. Hang on and fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a rough ride.

For how long? Castro seized power in 1959. And he's still there.

The pathetic thing is even Putin's party doesn't get anywhere near these numbers.

Joseph Stalin once said: “The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”

Venezuela is the first nation with nationwide electronic voting, and with Diebold machines.

So the tally must be accurate!

/end sarcasm

The gals from Miami-Dade help do the counting.

Probably not many chads when the stacks of ballots are perforated by an AK-47

Yes, he's going to be a problem for a long time but there are some things about Chavez's situation that make it easier to contain him.

He needs to sell his oil to the U.S. to keep going. He doesn't have any other big market. The Euros get their oil primarily from the middle east so they can't help him.

He's degrading his countries ability to continue pumping oil in the future. He's spending all his oil revenue (the part he and his cronies aren't stealing for themselves) on popular public programs. At least that's what he says. The bottom line is that he's not re-investing in the industry that supports his totalitarian regime. Things break and need to be repaired in order to pump more oil. It can't last for that reason. Also, I think that Venezuela's oil is not the best type of oil so it wouldn't command a premium price. I'll welcome any corrections on that point but my understanding is that Venezuelan oil is best suited for things like asphalt production rather than gasoline?

His efforts to spread his "Bolivarian Revolution" and "21st Century Socialism" across South America will reveal his true nature as a thug and he won't be able to hide behind his props and fake humanitarianism (like the heating oil ploy in MA).

P.S. DON'T BUY CITGO GAS!

Of course he won by all those votes. Who do you think counts them, anyway?

Chavez also has all of Islam behind him. His big buds are not only the Castroites and other LatAm communists, but an assortment of Iranians and Yemenis, plus followers of Muslim convert Carlos the Jackal, currently in a French prison but the idol of Chavez.

Washington, I think we have a problem.

Well, since there are "Bolivarian Circles" in Chicago, announced by Chavez and known to the US, I wouldn't say he's being contained very effectively.

However, he may go bankrupt, because he is giving away his country's sole product in an attempt to win allies, both among the local Communist dictators (such as Castro) and the US Democratic party.

I think the latter group should be drug out, charged with treason, and hanged. But that's just me.
