Cronyism approaching the style as it was practiced to a mandarin art in the Kremlin.

When will Bush get it?

The article ll powers do not include anointing your friends to rule over us. Every such choice he has made lately has been an embarassment.

Where is Cheney when we need him?

You're overreacting. He's teasing her about the Draft Rice movement.

I must have missed something, who did Bush appoint to "rule over us"?

On second thought, I'll believe it's a manipulation when Cheney has "cardiac issues" which force him to "retire" .

Very true, however there doesn't seem to be anyone else on the radar who comes as close to towing the conservative line as Condi. It's early and very likely someone WILL emerge and Condi will fade, but right now I could live with her as "44".

What is your purpose in promoting a founder of the Klan?

I realize he was a war hero, but I don't spend time promoting Hitler's Iron Cross.

Gee, someone with the Freepname and silly picture of Nathan Bedford (Forrest) unhappy that a black woman might become president. How surprising...

Is this supposed to make sense? You actually think Bush is trying to appoint his successor without an election?

You are crazy, son.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was a founder of the Ku Klux Klan. So, since you're obviously a big fan of his, I'm not surprised that you'd have a problem with Condi possibly running for president

Interesting comment.

Cronyism is really nothing new and is quite common for politicians. Let's just call it returning a favor.

Political appointments, fat government contracts, "earmarked" pork spending, fund raising assistance, etc.

It might cause some people to wonder what in the world Miss Rice has done to be owed so much?

On the other hand, maybe she's just a really good friend of the administration.

Who knows?

Anointing? I hardly call this an anointing. We do have elections you know. You are still entitltled to yours, and President Bush is also entitled his.

I think it's called a sense of humor.

You ought to try one.

It's a possibility when guys like Tancredo, Buchanan, Nader, and Kuchinich are still possibilities in their little circles as well.....

Still and all, she hasn't held an elective office yet. She could be a very very strong VP candidate, but I don't personally think she could carry the top of any said ticket.

That also said, I probably WOULD vote for her at this time, mainly because of who her opponent will probably be. Condi's stances are the issues are still too murky at this time, but if she truly doesn't want to run, it fits.

Well, first President W Bush cronied VP Cheney into the VP slot. Next, VP Cheney will step aside so that SOS Rice can be cronied into the VP slot. I suppose the President could then resign, and his newly appointed VP would become POTUS. How likely do you think that is? It is an intriguing possibility, but I think it highly unlikely.

Cheny would make an great president. Unfortunately, I think he is unelectable. In the same manner Robert Bork would have made an excellent supreme court justice, but was derailed by the left's lies and distortions, Cheny wold be lambasted with garbage about the hunting and Halliburton.
