CA: 2-fer -- Moving to the middle - Governor reaches out .. // Hail to the chief (of staff)

OPINION

When Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Democrat Susan Kennedy as his new chief of staff last week, it was a shrewd tactical move.

State Republicans groused that Schwarzenegger's hiring of the former aide to Gray Davis and former executive director of the California Democratic Party is a betrayal of his constituency. Really? Isn't the constituency of the governor all the residents of California, rather than just the members of one political party?

We think so, and so, evidently, does the governor. This is a welcome attempt to reach out to all voters. It affords the Democratic leadership the chance to join the governor in working to solve the state's problems and heal the rifts caused by the special election.

It's your fault for this happening, you and people like you. If his referendums passed, he wouldn't be doing this.

Is this another cut and run, Mr. Creel? You make allegations, then, when asked to support your contentions given the facts presented, you ignore the post? Your FR homepage says you are from North Carolina. Absent a response to my post #9 above, I will assume that you are just totally oblivious to any facts concerning California politics in viewing any future posts by you.

My computer can no longer connect to the school network. Any further political discussion may be met with long delays.

I do note that you made several posts yesterday subsequent to my post to you, including one on this thread. If you have intentions of ultimately responding, I will be waiting.

I'm just sick of this "love/hate" cycle that goes on with Schwarzenegger, and then you have people who just love shouting "gotcha" every time he does something we don't like while ignoring the good. It's frustrating the crap out of me.

I think a lot of people are frustrated by a lot of things. My biggest frustration is seeing myths propagated and the absence of facts/logic. The idea that Arnold is moving left as a result of "not getting support from conservatives" is myth. Leftist actions (see examples in Post #9, above) have been emanating from his office since day one. Many, in an effort to be supportive of the party, have tried to ignore them or given him a pass. Others, including party operatives, have tried to mask or dismiss them on this forum. The allegation that "conservatives stayed home" also doesn't hold water. The voting results clearly demonstrated that the most conservative measures (Props 73 and 75) did the best. That is only possible because there was a strong conservative showing at the polling places. It was acknowledged in this column, today, that it was a "special-election reform effort supported almost solely by conservative voters."

I did respond, see above.

My post #9 was to you, in direct response to your post #8 which said it was "[my] fault." You have not responded to that post, nor have any of your other posts addressed the questions contained therein.

I repeat: You have not responded to that post, nor have any of your other posts addressed the questions contained therein.

I guess I will go back to my earlier comment: Absent a response to my post #9 above, I will assume that you are just totally oblivious to any facts concerning California politics in viewing any future posts by you.

You're right and I notice they called up the troops to nag you about it.

Thank you. and Peace. :-)

There are some very interesting things happening in California beneath the surface of the headlines. Watch closely, but be cautious in jumping to (or reaching) conclusions. Things are not what they appear to be from reading the front page or as presented by the many campaign operatives on this forum.

Creel is a know-nothing outsider from North Carolina who makes very suspicious sounds reminiscent of an inhabitant of the GOP Big Tent.

Lets not waste our time with these people.

Or, someone who is being influenced by the propaganda, as so many voters are.

Time will tell.
