LAWRENCE, Kan. — A college professor whose planned course on creationism and intelligent design was canceled after he derided Christian conservatives said he was beaten by two men along a rural road early Monday.
University of Kansas religious studies professor Paul Mirecki said the men referred to the class when they beat him on the head, shoulders and back with their fists, and possibly a metal object, the Lawrence Journal-World reported.
"I didn't know them," Mirecki said of his assailants, "but I'm sure they knew me."
Messages left by the Associated Press on Mirecki's cell phone were not immediately returned.
Sheriff's Lt. Kari Wempe said Mirecki reported the attack just before 7 a.m.
The professor said he confronted the men after they were tailgating his vehicle along a road south of Lawrence. "I'm mostly shaken up, and I got some bruises and sore spots," he said.
Mirecki planned to offer a spring course called "Special Topics in Religion: Intelligent Design, Creationism and other Religious Mythologies" after the Kansas Board of Education decided to include more criticism of evolution in science standards for elementary and secondary students.
Last week, Mirecki asked the university to cancel the class after he created a furor by sending an e-mail to a student organization mocking Christian fundamentalists.
Mirecki had referred to religious conservatives as "fundies," and said a course describing intelligent design as mythology would be a "nice slap in their big fat face." He has apologized for those comments.

Since Saint Tawana did her thang, there have been many, many other examples. All of them result from the Left's projection of their own hatred and wish to destroy onto normal people. This is so they can say, to themselves, "See - we are in danger from them", when they are the source of all the danger.
THAT is a given.
Police should "arrest" two police officers that have irrefutable alibis for the time of the incident, and dress them similarly to this fruitcake's description. When he positively ID's them as the assailants (as I'm sure he would), NAIL HIM WITH THE EVIDENCE AND ARREST HIM!

I'm not sure but this seems sort of an odd time of year to be out just driving around thinking. Hasn't it been pretty icy and snowy around Lawrence? Maybe a Freeper in the area would know.

Dang. The temp. yesterday morning in Lawrence, KS was around 12 degrees with a 10+ mph wind and this dude was wearing a visor?
I bet it will come out that he wasn't even on that road.

But that was justified even if false! Anything to advance the cause is acceptable!
They could have executed him just as easily. I don't believe this happened.

Never have a plan of action that requires your opponent to be a bigger idiot than you, and you will avoid unpleasant surprises.

Not to excuse the beating, if it actually happened, but if he confronted them, then he is stupid.
