Shots Fired On American Airlines Flight At MIA

MIAMI -- A passenger on an American Airlines flight told NBC 6 that shots were fired on an airplane about to depart from Miami International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

Mary Gardner, who was a guest on NBC 6's South Florida Today show Wednesday morning, told NBC 6 the plane was on the runway when a passenger caused a disturbance and an air marshal fired shots.

Miami-Dade fire rescue officials confirmed the shooting.

The shooting happened at about 2 p.m. on AA flight 924, heading to Orlando.

Gardner appeared as a guest on NBC 6's "South Florida Today" this morning, telling viewers about inexpensive Christmas gifts.

NBC 6 will have more details as they become available.

I suppose Pearl Harbor day could be a terrorist's date of choice. Bet this is a white trash loon, though.

Miami Herald has:

Shots fired in plane at MIA; one injured

A federal air marshall fired shots on an American Airlines airplane at Miami International Airport, according to broadcast reports. One person has reportedly been injured.
American Airlines flight 942 reportedly originated in Medellin, Colombia, and was scheduled to depart for Orlando at 2:18 p.m. Broadcast reports said the Transportation Security Administration says a federal marshall fired the shot at a person who was considered a threat to the safety of the flight.

Miami-Dade police and fire rescue are on the scene. More details will be available soon.

A new spokesman on MSNBC reminds us, that Federal Marshalls onboard the plane, are a result of 9-ll procedures implemented. " A wonderful deterrent", he says.

there were 2 Fed Marshalls onboard. MSNBC still saying "shots were fired". (that be plural)

CNN: Officials say Air Marshall fired a weapon at a passenger doing something "threatening". Passenger is wounded but not dead.

...when a passenger caused a disturbance and an air marshal fired shots.

Must've been some disturbance. Or disturbed individual.
