Skip to comments.“Bush Lied About WMD” — retort
Posted on 12/07/2005 12:26:40 PM PST by Retain Mike
George Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction. I quote, We have known for years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing WMDs. Iraqs search for WMDs has proven impossible to deter and we should assume it will continue as long as Saddam is in power. He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that demanded he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. There is unmistakable evidence Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years. That is why we must be prepared to use force, if necessary, to disarm Saddam Hussein and eliminate Iraqs WMDs once and for all.
The above quotes compile statements respectively by Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, Henry Waxman, Robert Byrd, Jay Rockefeller, and John Edwards. These quotes concerning WMDs were uncontested points in 2002, which then formed the basis for further discussions. The legend persists instead that these and similar statements were talking points exclusively for George Bush. Contact your newspaper if you are interested in sources. Let us move the debate beyond this mythology.

Ya might want to correct your title.
You might want to post a link to this drivel.
How about some clickable links, too? HTML tags are easy and we are a lazy lot for good reason ;)
Um, next time you might want to check your headline before posting.
"We don't need no stinkin' tags!"
Make your links work.
Overall good approach to the issue.
Also, in addition to all this, there is evidence of WMDs moved out of the country during the long period leading up to our invasion. It seems that no one on either side of the aisle has the courage to address this possibility. Oh, I know that throws gasoline on the fires of dealing with Syria and Iran, hence the cowardice. But still, it needs to be addressed.
Why would Bush lie about WMDs? I mean, if he knows there aren't really any there, he knows he going to get caught on this. Why would he lie?
(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
I like the approach...
One problem though. The libs will simply counter that the Dims made these comments because Bush "cooked" the intelligence. A lie, we know. But it would help if you got the statements made by Dims during the 90's when Bush wasn't anywhere near a position to "cook" the intelligence.
Busd is worse than Hitlek.
Busd, eh? Well, you might want to post a link to this, if it actually lasts more than a few minutes.
Links are good if you want to be taken seriesly.
Is Bus-D a new rap star?
You know that if they ever find any caches in the desert, the story from the DUmmies will be that Bush had them planted.
If Saddam ever comes clean, it will be that Bush has paid him off to say that he had them.
[loud laughing]Thank you, both!
ow ow ow ow ow!
New Dem motto
Lieberman Lied.. (add stuff here)
Yeah, and the Dims didn't see the "same intelligence", or so they say.
Nice try but I think they will just continue to walk away from their own words without any accountability.
They're politicians. We let them behave this way.
Hey this is HUGH! and Vey series!
Just ask Jay Rockefeller, since he gave Syria the heads up that we were going to war.
Hugh Grant? Hugh Laurie?
"The libs will simply counter that the Dims made these comments because Bush "cooked" the intelligence."
We could say the Democraps were brain washed ala George Romney, but that wouldn't hold water considering the leftist RATS are brainless. Still, I think it would be a good tactic to suggest they were suckered by dumb old country boy Bush.
hugh aren't funny
(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
Somebody named "Busd" lied about someone's witty reply? What exactly was the retort?
If GWB had REALLY wanted to lie he could have shipped some stuff over with our troops to make sure we could show it on the evening news with Dan Blather. Journalists don't know what WMD looks like anyway so most anything will work. Nobody is saying it had to actually work. Remember, it's all a lie....:-)
He's among those who merit deep investigation.
Sorry for hugh :-(
"Just ask Jay Rockefeller, since he gave Syria the heads up that we were going to war."
Shirley, he can't be Syria's.
Great points, but not too well written. Has no "snap."
If you look it says 2002. The RATS talking point says they were given bad information by the White House. That is theie gripe.
What they should be pointing at is the ABC news story in 1999 about the WMD, The TIME magazine article about Saddams weapons, the Deulfer report, The NY Times, WAPO and LA Times articles and the European intelligence community as well as Clintons bill to overthrow Hussein.
Basically the RATS are trying to rewrite history to say pre 9/11 this never happened.
ping for later
This is a great article written by someone on the ground who was a inspector with UNSCOM, his name is Bill Tierney.
Read this thoroughly.
also one of our traitorous congress men bragged about warning the enimies before the attack so the sadamites could prepare.
...thus saying their own heros aren't smart enough to make such evaluations on their own.
He is Syria's. . .
and don't call him Shirley.
Sorry, but on my screen I don't see Busd. I see Bush three times. I need sone help here.
