You have the claims of the father. You may have gone to High school but you obviously don't have kids.It is the headmasters responsibility to question the students involved since it was clearly common knowledge around the school already.

the school will argue that their student behavior agreement states that students will behave within a certain moral code, and within the moral code of most Christian schools, lesbianism does't fit.

this lawyer's argument is actually specious in that such an agreement doesn't lay out what is allowed and not allowed in the Bible .. but that's lawyers for ya.

the girl and her parents signed the agreement which included her acting within the moral code of that school, period.

You don't even SEND you r kid to military school, if you are a pacifist!

One of the greatest lines I have ever heard on this subject. Parents who use their own kids to selfishly further their own agendas, are despicable. If anyone is to blame here, they are the ones to point the finger at. This girl should not have been enrolled in the first place, especially since it was done deceitfully!!

You're just batting zero today. I have 4 children 27, 25, 13, and 11. I also have two grandchildren, 2 and 10 months.

It is the headmasters responsibility to question...

Headmaster? This wasn't Eaton. We typcially have principals in America. In this instance it was, Principal Emmaline McKinnon.

"You don't even SEND you r kid to military school, if you are a pacifist!"

I'm having a hard time figuring out where pacifists and military school got into this.

"This girl should not have been enrolled in the first place, especially since it was done deceitfully!!"

What makes you think she was enrolled deceitfully? I don't think her parents could have predicted everything she would do in the future. Kids do have minds of their own. And yes they do sometimes make mistakes when they are learning to drive them.

A private school certainly can expel you for behavior off campus. I was busted for possession and failure to obey an officer and resisting arrest (NEVER NEVER NEVER take a swing at a cop!) when I was 17. My parents were called the next morning, after I made the local media (it was a different era) and told that I was being "allowed to withdraw" if I wished from the private (non-religious) HS I attended.

The principal cited a very vaguely worded section in the contract about behavior not to bring dishonor on the school or something, and said the board had an special meeting that morning via phone. I could leave or be expelled.

Yeah, you're right... The school should have a "living, breathing, flexible" set of rules open to interpretation according to current American culture and not the original spirit of the founders' aims. Where have we heard that before? Oh yeah, from the Democrats about our Constitution. I respect your opinion, but the school is right no matter what is written down in the lawbook. The girl will probably win, but there still are some sane judges, so maybe the school will win. I think everybody on here recognizes that kissing (romantic kissing) someone of the same sex goes against scripture, if not in specific circumstance, definitely in spirit. I KNOW the Bible says that having sex with someone of the same sex is a sin, so therefore kissing would be too. I need to read the whole Bible, it may say something about kissing too.

You think you're clever hah? The school still has the right to expell a student who has publicly done something against its rules. I know we are all sinners, but what doesn't get caught by man, is seen by God who judges in finality. What happens publicly is judged publicly. There is no hypocrisy in that, without that our society would be an anarchy.

I could leave or be expelled.

I hope you chose to withdraw rather than have a zero-tolerance expulsion on your record to follow you around for the rest of your life.

Some administrators I know need to be on behavior contracts for anger problems. If the same standards were held on them they would lose their jobs, but since they work for a school, it takes the sun, moon and the stars to fire them for something they wouldn't hesitate to toss a kid out for.

No wonder homeschooling is so popular.

Unfortunantly, you and many others did not full read or understand the original posting. The kiss was in private and not out in public. Weather you agree with it or not what is done in private is not for us to judge. In fact the bible says we should not judge others at all. And we should treat others as we want to be treated. As Christians many of us forget this and try to force "up right morals" on everyone. Lets just live by example and let God do the judging.

I agree with you that people should not judge others with their self-righteous judgment.

Some people argue that since Covenant Christian Academy is a private school, so the administrators of the school have the right to do whatever they do with Jessica Bradley. (One of them is Grim on the website
http://www.worldmagblog.com/blog/archives/021803.html but I am unable to refute him directly as the site stops accepting comments on the topic.) Covenant Christian Academy is not just a private school. It is a Christian private school. The students and real Christians have the right to fight the wrongful act of the school that is against the teaching of Jesus Christ.

They also accuse Jessica as a homosexual by ignoring the fact that Jesus and his disciples also practiced same sex kissing as Jessica Bradley does and that Jesus advocated his followers to greet each other with a kiss of love. I see no reason why two girls cannot kiss each other more passionately when the love between them is more intense and personal.

A lot of people try to justify the wrongful act of the school by quoting Leviticus 18:22 from the Bible “Thou shalt not lie with mandkind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” But that is twisting the teaching of the Bible to justify their prejudice. Jessica is not a man. She is a girl. Jessica did not commit male to male sodomy mentioned in that law. She just kissed another girl. Even if two girls make love with each other as two females loving each another, there is no law against it in the Bible. There are no grounds for professed Christians to accuse Jessica Bradley of inappropriate relationship with another girl at all.

Also God’s view regarding human sexuality is not immune to challenge and changes. For example:
God the Father said, “And the man who committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.” (Leviticus20)
But God the Son said, “ “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” “Neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more.” (John 8)

I am not a homosexual, but it is my belief that when two men hugging and caressing each other as two men loving each other, it is not against God’s law as long as no sex organ or simulating object is used because none of the participants plays the sexual role of female as specified in the law.

And what if a human being is born with both male and female sexual organs as in the hermaphrodites. Does it mean that the person commits homosexual sin no matter the person has sex with a male or a female or does it mean the person is incapable of committing homosexual sin since the person is neither male nor female? God has given no law regarding the sexual acts of hermaphrodites even though they are God’s intentionally or unintentionally creations.

When no law has been made or when God challenges and changes his own law, the Law of Love applies.
