NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Talkers magazine reports conservative hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are the most popular radio hosts in the United States.
More than 13.75 million people listen to Limbaugh per week while Hannity draws more then 12.5 million weekly listeners, Talkers reported.
Michael Savage is third with more than 8 million listeners a week.
There is tie for fourth place between shock jock Howard Stern -- soon due to move to Sirius Satellite Radio -- and Dr. Laura Schlessinger with more than 7.75 million weekly listeners, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.
Laura Ingraham filled out the Top 5 with more than 5 million.
Talkers said it used Arbitron data and "other reliable indicators" for its semiannual rankings report.

I wouldn't even recognize Al Franken if he hadn't written a book that got his face plastered all over television for weeks on end doing fawning interviews on every network.
In fact, the media were obsessed with his bold assertion that conservatives were nothing but a bunch of liars. He almost came off sounding noble... That is, if you believe everything you hear in the MSM.

I agree, too bad Rush is on in the afternoon during work hours where I live instead of during the drive home.

The White House should take note of these numbers, and the messages conveyed to the audiences.

Hannity really screwed up on the FL Emanate Domain story. He missed a lot of the facts.

What always cracks me up is. The fact that Talk Radio is the MSM when it comes to numbers. Just look at those totals.

Hannity and Savage are virtually unlistenable (combination of boring RNC fax-of-the-day, general ignorance, dead-obvious commentary, lame repetitive topics and lack of debating skills), so everyone below them has to be really bad - do they even speak English?

Franken has been picked to play Curious George in a soon to be produced movie. The working title is Curious George and the High Voltage Electric Prison Fence.

He's on our side a lot more than not. And he has clout.

Actually the Whine all the Time Choir should be taking notes. Never here Rush et al spending ANY of their time whining about what their OWN side is, or is NOT, doing. Rush constantly keeps his eye on the ball instead of wasting all his time having Ideological Purity Hissy fits

Is it me, or do these latest numbers show that Limbaugh has actaully lost audience? The Cultural Conventional Wisdom always stated he had between 15-20 million listeners (with the latter number always used as his standard benchmark number, by both conservatives AND liberals). If it's less than 14 million now, either the Conventional Wisdom numbers were always over inflated, or they were true and less listen to him now.

That's interesting and honest.
On the other hand, the Grammy Award nominess for 2006 ("Spoken Word Category") are Franken, Garrison Keilor (!!), and (get ready for this one) Barack Obama (!!!). Obama has been nominated for the audiobook of his autobiography.

I think thats in respective to the time of the year involving elections or such. But, with the last Ratings Rush might be alittle lower than normal.
Anyway, the more variety the better. Free Market. Rush will always be at the top, because he is Middle of the Road.
