The News Journal of Delaware reported today that Michael Berg, father of terror victim Nick Berg, is running for Congress from his new home in Delaware.
Nick Berg was a civilian who went to Iraq several times seeking to help the Iraqi people by rebuilding radio towers. He was kidnapped by terrorists and beheaded, reportedly by Al Qaeda in Iraq leader Al Zarqawi.
Berg briefly became a darling of the Bush-hating media when television news showed him collapsing in his front yard in West Chester, Pennsylvania when he was told by members of the press that a videotape of his son's beheading had been released by the terrorists.
Berg fell out of favor with the media when he was exposed as an activist with the communist front group International ANSWER--a group that supports terrorists.
The Berg family moved to Wilmington, Delaware this year.
Berg says he will run for the seat held by Republican Michael Castle, a former governor of the state. He will be running as a member of the leftist Green Party and will campaign by riding his bicycle throughout the state.
The News Journal also reports that Berg is seeing a therapist weekly--and that Berg says the FBI has agreed to pay a substantial part of his bills through their victim's assistance program.
Berg protests against the war every week on a street corner in Wilmington with a small group of leftists. He was recently arrested at a shopping mall while participating in a "Buy Nothing Day" protest.

Before there was Cindy Sheehan, there was Michael Berg. Berg and Sheehan are very similar in their language and associates. Both came to national prominence a year apart, even though their sons were killed within weeks of each other in the Spring of 2004.The differerence in their coverage was that the media had learned to cover up and not report the extremist rhetoric of Sheehan so she could be used to damage President Bush.

Before there was Cindy Sheehan, there was Michael Berg. Berg and Sheehan are very similar in their language and associates. Wasn't Berg a civilian contractor, or free lancer? IMO they will both run for congress - I think Sheehan is being coached to do that as we chat. She now has world recognition and she loves the camera - a perfect congressional candidate. Wonder what state/district she will represent? Can you imagine listening to that little girl voice for another 4 or 6 years? You will get that chance if the Loony Left has their way, and can figure out how to wrest control of the evil Diebold machines back from Rove.

The ANSWER man runs for office. Remember, he slipped up when he told reporters that his son's killers beheaded their best friend.

Cindy Sheehan has pronounced herself "mom to all the children in the world." I don't think even Congress could contain her ego now.

He will crash and burn and has NO chance in Delaware -- I lived there for 20 years. State doesn't like newcomers, Mike Castle has been in office forever, and the other senator is Joe Biden.
To: kristinn
and now there is Cindy Sheehan the play. What a crazy world.

Why not go to the Middle East and run for office there so his buddies can help get him elected?

She better hope she gets more voters than she had fans. Yes, but that was for a mornic comic book she wrote in 30 minutes. If she really did run for Congress, there are millions of idjits out there that would welcome her with open arms. Her mental capacity to be a congressman doesn't matter in the least - once in congress in Jan 2007 she would go into the "attack BUSH mode" in earnest and that is what the loony left wants in their congressman. She would have non-stop 24/7 camera coverage and be quoted in every publication around the world.

What's Mr. Michael Berg's campaign slogan going to be?
"My son was beheaded by Jew/Christian hating islamofascists, and it's all George Bush's fault, elect me to Congress."

Yes that is the DemocRAT slogan for sure. We were not attacked by Iraq - how many times has that been spewed by the left?

"She better hope she gets more voters than she had fans."
Big difference. With her book she was saying, "Here's a book, give me your money." Running for Congress, she can say, "I'm a candidate who will give you money."
In the SF Bay Area where Sheehan hails from, that's 90% of a winning candidacy.

In the SF Bay Area where Sheehan hails from, that's 90% of a winning candidacy. Oh you are soooo right - both coasts are filled with those kind of "voters". Fortunately the flyover country is a little less LIBERAL and tend to take responsibility for their own actions and outcomes.

I will be very interested to follow this "race" although I wonder if between sessions if he has inquired about residency requirements to run for Congress in Del.

What a complete loon. The only reason I can think of for him doing this is that he's jealous of Cindy Sheehan.
It seems clear now why their children ran to Iraq. I would have, too.

Like most at the "signing" I doubt many would actually show up to vote for her. Voter turnout among moonbats is low.

Oh man, we need to go after this sorry sack fast and hard; without mercy. He is an embarassment to the country. How could a father be more loathsome than to adovate for the men who beheaded his son! But then, some parents really do hate their own kids.

Just another Lee Harvey Oswald waiting for the right moment and opportunity. I pray for Bush everyday because I know they are out there and their hate gets stronger as time marches on and he is still in office, much to their dismay after all the "tricks" have not worked.

I read about this guy in USA Today. The nutjob said that he had no comfort knowing that al-Zarqawi, who is believed to be one of the guys in the video beheading his son, was dead.
In fact, he said that George W. Bush was more of a terrorist than the fundamentalist towelhead who cut off his son's head.
This guy has a mental disorder. There is no other way to explain him.
