THEY'RE JUST LOOKING FOR A EXCUSE, NOT A REASON.
The California Supreme Court has now had its last say in the case of murderer Tookie Williams. No stay of execution. It's now up to Governor Schwarzenegger. Tookie's supporters are pulling out all of the stops. Now they've even come up with a last-minute witness that can prove Tookie's innocence. Yeah, sure. Don't you just love those "last-minute witness" things?
Who is on Tookie's side here? Well, we have pretty much the normal cast of characters. We have the NAACP, of course, and we have actors and rappers. There's also the community "activists" singing out for Tookie. We also have a Swiss legislator and a pant-full of college professors. These professors have been repeatedly offering Tookie Williams as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. No big deal there, the Nobel Peace Prize hasn't been about actual peace for decades. Now it's all about promoting the leftist agenda.
They call Tookie an "anti-gang crusader." Yet Tookie Williams would never cooperate with law enforcement in their efforts to bring the Crips gang, the gang he founded. He wouldn't disclose the names of gang members to the cops.
Tookie's Termination is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. It won't happen. First, the federal courts are likely to grant a stay or two. After all, he was only sentenced about 24 years ago. What's the rush? Secondly, I believe that the main reason the execution of Tookie Williams won't be executed is because Schwarzenegger knows full well that as soon as Tookie's death is announced there will be riots in South Central Los Angeles and elsewhere. The huge media exploitation of this story has made drop-dead sure of that. There are thugs just waiting for an excuse ... not a reason, an excuse. The rioting, of course, will lead to wide scale looting. There are a lot of aspiring rappers and NBA superstars who could really use a nice flat-screen television right now.
Look for Arnold to give Tookie a pass.

Fine. Buy a little time for the cesspool that is California. With such brownshirt tactics in play, the time you buy will be very short indeed.

My money is on Arnold being the girlie man lib that he really is and surrendering to the gang extortion.
A TRUE life sentence should be harsh enough that the prisioner BEGS for the death sentence. Problem solved.
I think Arnold could send a powerful message to the youth of his state and this nation if he came on the TV at about 2:00 a.m. in his pajamas and said, "Oh mahn, I wanted to tink about da tookie weeyums ting a little bit lahnger, but I took a nahp unt my alahm clock didn't go off on time!! So kids, dis is the kind of thing that happens if you don't go to sleep early and get to your jahbs on time!!"

Yep, the 9th Circuit still has to play its card and their record of doing sensible things isn't very strong.
