He may have just not slept the night before. There are some bags under his eyes accentuated by the lighting, but it really does not look like someone who has really been beaten.
I have seen people who were worked over and they don't look even remotely like his face does..
I can imagine those injuries on his face if he were hit while his glasses were on.
Of course, the glasses would have been damaged.
I wonder if he had the presence of mind to take them off before he was "assulted".
