our party, the way its structured, needs a very strong political and communications operation coming from the white house to sustain it. otherwise, the media fills the vacuum, and we know what their biases are, and eventually republicans (not all of them, but enough in a closely split country) run for cover. that is what we are seeing here on the so-called "torture" bill.
