OKLAHOMA CITY - In the days after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, the U.S. government used a spy satellite to gather intelligence on a white separatist compound in Oklahoma, according to a published report. The McCurtain Daily Gazette reported Wednesday that it had obtained a Secret Service log indicating that on May 2, 1995 _ two weeks after the April 19 bombing _ the FBI was trying to locate suspects for questioning. They were thought to be in Elohim City, a compound near the town of Muldrow.
"Satellite assets have been tasked to provide intelligence concerning the compound," the document says.
Shown a copy, Secret Service spokesman Jonathan Cherry told The Associated Press he could not confirm it was a Secret Service document and declined further comment.
There was no indication in the document of what information the satellite might have gathered, or what the spacecraft was capable of doing.
U.S. officials typically rely on photo-reconnaissance satellites to gather intelligence from space on hostile governments and foreign terrorists. It would be unusual to use such a satellite domestically.
Timothy McVeigh was executed in 2001 for the bombing, which killed 168 people. Terry Nichols, is serving a life sentence.
Theories have persisted that a group of white supremacist bank robbers with ties to Elohim City may have played a role in the bombing. But prosecutors have rejected such theories.
So let's make sure we remember this report when the left howls about a new report out tonight that the president authorized unusual spying in the United States after 9/11.

I don't know if this really ads anything. The founder of Elihom City was an FBI informant. What more could the satellite tell them?
Since almost everyone in Elohim City was a double agent or agent provacateur for the FBI, the CIA, or the ATF, I fail to see why they would have needed to use a spy satellite.

I just wonder why someone is digging around in the Secret Service memos relating to OK City now. Will the next report be about the Secret Service memo regarding the video of the truck blowing up? That story just plain died.
Lots of stories "just die". Seems like its always the stories that go against "conventional wisdom" that just fade away.
A bigger question: what is the SS doing investigating OKC bombing at all? How is it within their bailiwick? If anything, one would expect FBI to have jurisdiction. This seems extremely odd.... but then lots of things about OKC seem odd.
Probably because some moonbat somewhere in the Federal employ is trying to tie George W. Bush to it.
Makes it look like the Clintonistas were trying to pin this on domestic whities, in order to ease the pressure on the Middle Eastern suspects.

Two other people at Elohim City were also informants, in addition to the founder/owner.
Two things that make this story will go away soon: (1) it happened during Clinton's time, and (2) the satellite was used to spy on white separatist.
The whole OKC bombing was chilling for me. Too many questions, no satisfactory answers. The whole Elihom City connection (Strassmeyer et al) made no sense unless you believe the FBI/BTF set the whole thing up. I do.
Yeah, well I kind of wrote the whole thing off when I found out that McVey had stopped into Elohim on his way to blow up the Federal Building. No one can convince me the feds didn't know what he was up to long before it happened.
I've never seen a refutation of the story that the FBI all took their kids out of the daycare center that day.
There WAS a Middle-East connection as they first speculated.
