I'll say this about that. I've found now, watching primary campaigns against incumbents, that it is almost impossible for a party to replace an incumbent and win the election. In Virginia, we had two state delegates who were moderate republicans. One "retired" because of opposition, the other lost in a primary. Each strongly endorsed and raised money for the DEMOCRAT opposing the republicans, and the democrats won both seats.
I think we can win those seats back, but it will be hard because of the animosity and split in the party caused by these incumbents.
It may be better to simply vote for the democrat opponent if you want to get rid of a republican incumbent -- you can then have the party "coalesce" around a new candidate without all the animosity of a primary challenge.
If we haven't learned by now that there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the two major parties, then we are truly stuck on stupid, and deserve the fate that awaits us.
I say kick the bastards out. Incumbency is so out of hand that fewer than thirty house seats will be in contention in '06. What in the wide, wide world of sports are we thinking? Do we really want to continue this out-of-control oligarchy? I think not.
pppppffffffftttt! 34 votes, out of that 2 were dead...and she can't recall who was working there that day??? 32 live people walked in and voted ALL DAY and someone there chucked in two dead ballets plain and simple. CHARGE HER,she'll sing.
this and the "we did not bury them" from yesterday...he's protesting too much.
