Yes, Mr. M works at a prison and the employees are always having to get shots and tested for both.
Don't schools require that all students have their vaccinations up to date? Maybe they should begin requiring proof of vaccination in this country and booster shots for people who have spent any significant time in less developed countries, so that foreign students don't transmit these diseases to the rest of the population. And maybe "immigrants" should be required to pass health tests again.
I do not think written proof is required in our local school system. I suspect a verbal "yes" will do.
I got a letter last week that my ninth grade son had been exposed to pertussis. I got another one yesterday. His immunizations are up to date but one has to wonder where this is coming from...and also are all the student's up to date on their immunizations?
Also looked up pertussis on the web last night and found an article that stated there is no approved pertussis booster available for those older than seven.
Check this out:
"Immigration And Disease: It's Enough To Make You Sick "
According to an article at newsobserver.com and other news sources, a deadly Pennsylvania hepatitis outbreak has spread panic among many residents of the area. ''More than 500 people got sick and three have died from this hepatitis outbreak.'' Charles Sheehan, writing for the Associated Press, claims that ''The nation's biggest known outbreak of hepatitis A is causing such a panic that people are lining up by the thousands for antibody shots and no longer eating out.''

I started coughing last night, and the lungs have been bugging me all day.
Stopped at the local Walgreens to pick up some Cepacol, it was a total hack-fest by the pharmacy.
If I start "whoopin'," I'll let you know.
If you don't think it's allergies, maybe it wouldn't hurt to go have it checked out anyway...
I had an inexplicable cough recently. I started worrying about TB myself, but it went away, thank goodness. Nowadays you never know.
More of the same crud that's floating around. Ugh.
Guess it would be worse, though. Nothing that a couple of shots of warm brandy won't help!
Stay well out there!
