He's just teasing you, Johnnie :)
To no one's surprise, President Bush today publicly defended Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld against charges that he is uncaring and insensitive.
"That's a bunch of bull hockey," Bush said. "Sometimes, perhaps his demeanor is rough and gruff. But below that rough and gruff, no-nonsense demeanor is a good human being who cares deeply about the military and deeply about the grief that war causes. That's the sort of Defense Secretary I know and respect. What, you know a different Defense Secretary, John McCain? I'll kick your ass. I've done it before and I won't hesitate to do it again."
"Now if you all keep quiet for a second, I'd like to read you a little poem about the man that I fondly call Rummy. Or the Rum-master. But usually Rummy. Trent Lott, you know what you'd better call him? Sir. Cause I've got your number son, and it's no skin off my back to give you a thrashing."
"Okay. I call this 'A Real Good Man'.
I know Secretary Rumsfeld's heart. I know how much he cares for the troops. I have heard the anguish in his voice, and seen his eyes when we talk about the danger in Iraq.
He's a good decent man. He's a caring fellow. And all you nay-sayers are yellow."
"Pretty good, huh? And it ought to be, cause I wrote it from the heart, where all good poems come from. Now no more bad-mouthing from any of you hot shots. Cause I'm warning you. See this ear of corn?"
I remember this being in the news at the time, am I remembering correctly?
Look, it was foreign nationals and they tried this crap three years ago. Hello, the 9-11 hijackers were here in this country celled up (if it weren't for Able Danger, we wouldn't have known... which they're still trying to cover up).
NYT said they held it for a year... for the WH. Who believes that bull?
How come I didn't hear anything about the satellites and OKC when Clinton did it?
Now you know why FDR suspended civil liberties; Between the senators and MSM tearing down the US and leaking every secret they can find without you being able to ask for their sources.
Yep.
Damn, you're good.
Rush is hitting on all 8 cylinders today. Now he needs to do the Barrett report. He let it slide yesterday.
As for Rush's question of who is leaking ..
IMO ... SOME STAFFERS IN THE SENATE INTEL COMMITTEE .. most likely from Rockefeller's office
More 'n likely, Rockefeller himself.
McCain 666 is still in the Hanoi Hilton. He said in his book torture worked on him... so what's the problem? Is he ashamed that it worked? Does he think terrorists will only stab our hostages to death instead of beheading them if we're nice?
Bolton should have gone to CIA. I thought Goss was cleaning... it should have been a clean sweep.
I have never witnessed so many leaks in my life. Where the heck is Gonzales, the DOJ and why isn't the CIA asking for investigations just out of shame alone (because they're the ones leaking, i'm sure).
This is beyond sedition... this is treason. The Old Grey Lady's stock is way down... they're getting some Soros money for sure.
Do you know they have PR and advertising firms and consultants whose only job is to spread this socialist agenda? Why is it that you have a minority of any group getting rights in court or congress with no voice of the people and the majority? They use Goebbels propaganda and lies over and over to the public until they believe it. You can't even show a lib facts... not even from someone on their side who gets it... they will not fathom the truth...
Emailing again.
It's also clear from the Times piece that Rockefeller knew about the government's eavesdropping, as did the FISA court. By the time this story is fully fleshed out, we'll learn that many others knew about it, too. To the best of my knowledge, Rockefeller didn't take any steps to stop the eavesdropping. And he's no friend of this administration. Nor is he above using intelligence for political purposes, as his now infamous memorandum demonstrates
NY Times is trying to turn increased security measures after 9-11 into Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus.
Wait a minute! What's this author's first name? Last name Rosen?
I've been asking the very thing myself, seems like he's hiding under his desk. He's a do nothing AG. IMO.
