Good for Dubya! I am sick unto death of all these darned leakers. They don't care what defenses or important plans they ruin as long as they can feel important by revealing things they shouldn't. They always squawk about the public's "right to know" but some things you have to take on trust. Darn it, that's part of why we elect people -- to stand in our stead and decide matters that should not be revealed in the public square.

"I don't give a hoot about elections. We have seen the Republicans act more leftist than the leftists, so screw the elections. We have 8% of our population as illegal aliens. We have 50% of our population as ignorant, anti-American, non-taxpayers. Decent, taxpaying citizens are in the minority. All the RATs are anti-American scum in Congress, and 80% of the Republicans are RINO, anti-American scum. With those numbers, President Bush should declare martial law and leave it as martial law. Not temporary-- permanent. The ignorant, anti-American masses here in this nation dictate that as the best course of action."

Anyone smell a rat on this one?

Sure, America should become a military dictatorship. Great idea, that's what the Founding Fathers had in mind. That's freedom. I'm not quite sure you understand where you are and what this country is about.

Did you read the point I made?

The RAT party has one goal--power. They don't care about doing the nation's business.

The press is against Bush.

The universities are against Bush.

We know 48% of the American voters voted for a traitor, a lying opportunist and a 3-time fake Purple Heart in John Kerry.

We have an ignorant nation. Most grads from public schools in the major inner cities can't read, and most citizens no more about reality TV shows than current events.

We have millions of illegal aliens invading our nation, along with Middle Eastern terrorists.

The RATs want to impeach Bush.

Iran and North Korea are getting nukes and long-range missiles.

With all this, Bush is climbing Mount Everest alone, wearing nothing but a T-shirt.

Martial law is an option that is legal. Don't bring up this "Founding Fathers" stuff and imply it is unconstitutional. Declaring martial law is an option.

Do I think we have reached that point? No. Have you ever heard of hyperbole? Have you? I made that point as hyperbole, but it is an option should the majority of the nation go so crazy and the president feels we have an imminent danger that the hysteria in the nation is preventing him from defending this nation.

Example: what if intelligence shows that cells in this nation are arranging for a ship to arrive with a nuke onbaord to detonate at a port? Bush wants to tap phones or do other stuff the crazies say he can't do, yet Bush is trying to stop a nuke detonation at a port? What if the press and Congress are going absolutely nuts during a time of a major threat against us? Is martial law an option? Yes, it is a legal option. For the record, I trust Bush managing this nation under martial law far more than I trust Pelosi or Clinton or some radical RAT running this nation under normal law. Don't get so weird about that.

An uncomfortable Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid admitted on Sunday that he was briefed on the Bush administration's decision to have the NSA monitor domestic communications in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, as reported in the New York Times on Friday.

"I was briefed a couple of months ago," the testy-sounding Democrat told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace, after complaining: "Listen - the program has been in effect - it's been in effect for four years now."

Reid's admission came only after Wallace pressed him twice about President Bush's claim yesterday that congressional leaders had been briefed on the program.

The top Democrat declined to explain why he didn't raise objections when he was first briefed on the spy program that suddenly has Democrats and the media up in arms.

Addendum to post #747:

1] U.S. Supreme Court decided that POTUS has dictatorial power, including the power to suspend the Constitution.

The powers of PUTUS are broad, even without martial law.

2] As president of the United States, you may persuasively claim to have extensive statutory and constitutional powers to deploy the armed forces of the United States within the boundaries of the United States for law enforcement purposes without recourse to declarations of martial law. The limitations imposed by the Posse Comitatus Act and related statutes are no significant check to your executive powers as Commander-In-Chief to use the armed forces to take such measures as you consider necessary FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD.

The above quote was a summary presented to Bill Clinton over concern about the Year 2000 events.

There are many freepers with far more education and reading than you will ever be able to dream of...
your supposed intellectual snobbery, on too small of a factual basis, lends credence to the supposition that you are really a liberal. They tend to believe themselves, as a member of the "Precious" class, to be far more learned than others. Incorrectly so.)

PS Where's your Harvard MBA? Why aren't you in Condi's post?

What is everyone so afraid of with PA?

We're afraid of how Hillary would misuse it.

Let me see if I understand you. If there were no PA, then Billary would behave themselves? Com'on - what happened to the 900+ FBI files when they were in the WH? Who was their go-to man in the FBI? I am sure the FBI guy was a career civil servant and probably ready to toss out a story to the MSM that will help take out Bush.
