This woman has been pregnant for 12.75 years

[17 children times 3/4 of a year for each kid = 12.75 years]

If they're on welfare it's a pretty good bet we're looking at people who will be voting for Democrats. They're also not setting a good example for their children.

By the "wrong kind" of birth, I'm referring to births which result in children who do not make desirable citizens. I don't care to be more explicit than that.

Public assistance is welfare. And who do you suppose provides for the assistance that the public gives? The public. Surprised? If you can not afford to support your own children it is time for a little snip snip.

Difficult as it may be to believe, I have a living step-relative, raised in rural Northern Michigan, who did not know how babies came into being until years after she was married. She eventually had two children. I don't know when she was finally told, or by whom. For years, her husband didn't know that she didn't realize the connection between sex and pregnancy. This woman is not unintelligent, and she had tried to find out the answer and no one would tell her the truth. This is why people realized the need to give basic information on reproduction and related health issues in public schools.

Really?
When my mother was married in 1947, my father told her about sex and what comes from it.
I don't think the Public Schools have any business in Sex Education further than Biology. Related Health Issues? Like condoms on cucumbers and golden showers?

In case you have not noticed this is a forum. If you want a private conversation where no one responds to what you say you have the tools. Otherwise all are welcome to take a shot at ya. And I might add if you can't handle a shot every once in a while you are in the wrong place. Oh and Merry Christmas yourself!

It's easy to have a positive attitude when you're not held responsible for your actions.

Wow! I have five kids and feel like I have a lot. I am always amazed at people who have six or more.

Oh, fiddle-faddle. Families like this often need some temporary public assistance, but they are contributing 17 future taxpayers to the economy to pay for your Social Security (also public assistance.)

I'm not saying it's OK, but I don't think this family would survive without public assistance if the dad is just a maintenance worker in Sacramento.

But the least they could do is learn our language. Is that asking too much?

Your response is void of rational reasoning and ethical discernment.

Assuming each child receives $500 a month in government welfare the combined cost for the 17 children over an 18 year period would total approximately $1,836,000.

Each persons earning potential is approximately 1-2 million dollars. Combined earnings for the 17 children could reach 34 million dollars.

Assuming a minor tax rate of 6 percent of the total 34 million. The revenue received by government would be around $ 2,040,000.

The real burden on society are those who have no children. For the family earning potential ends with that person. And as that individual reaches the latter years of life the cost for that individual is greater than earnings. An elderly persons savings in general maintains the financial status quo and without children to care for their needs and as their health deteriorates they are increasingly in need of government charity. Charity is an accurate description because that individual has left no one behind to provide for future earnings and growth. Interesting enough there must be a minimum number of children to break even. I am sure there are a select few who are financially secure and are the exception, but most are not.

But maybe you have and answer to this problem after all. Would it be Euthanasia!!

I am from a family of fifteen children and agree with your assessment.

Not once did mother or father try to obtain help from anyone. They always said that it was their choice to have fifteen children and for that reason they would accept nothing from an outsider or the government. In fact father hated the government.

I remember one Christmas when a new priest showed up at the door with a turkey and a ham. Mother and Father were very cordial and expressed appreciation.

When the priest was gone, mother bundled six of us into the car and drove to a part of town we did not often frequent. We all got out of the car and mother knocked on the door of a run down house and presented the turkey and ham to an old man and woman who answered the door.

When we got back in the car, she told us that if anyone gave us anything, we were to pass it on to someone who was needy.

Father worked three jobs until we were able to work. We had a large cookie jar that we put all the money we earned into.Mother banked it once a week. It went for clothes and tuition.

We all went to private school and colleges which we paid for ourselves.

Father started a business when he was 55 and retired last year at age 82 as a millionaire. He has passed the business on to three of my brothers and two of my sisters.

Large families are great, but you better be responsible for them.
